Holy crap.....i didn't know this unassu.ing grocery store has the BEST kind of Mexican food in KC! I just moved back from AZ and had a HARD craving for some good quality tacos! They have it! They even have the authentic chicharrones on the side of the store! I had the lengua tacos...so juicy, so simple! You KNOW its going to be good when you got aunties running around the back of the kitchen! The interior is nothing fancy, just some tables, and they have a self-service at the end of the register. and no you don't have to speak spanish when you order!

Food was not good or tasty. Steak was dry & some of it was hard. They were out of refried beans but had fresh beans on the counter that they could have made into refried beans, but they didn't. Tamale was supposed to be pork, but I don't know what it was besides cold & empty. Rice was cold & tasteless. The best thing I ate was a bite of jalapeño & the fanta soda I drank. I was very disappointed, I ended up just throwing the Tamal plate meal I ordered away. It was a waste of money!!! Sorry, I was so disappointed I didn't even take a picture!

I moved to Kansas City after living my whole life in So Cal. Finding a good spot for Mexican Food has been crazy but this is the spot. I now come here for the market, food in house and I buy meat at their Butcher. This place is a must go for all taco lovers. If you haven’t been here you are welcome and if you have you know what I am talking about. i recommend the carne asada tacos and avocado salsa.

The service here has done me in for the last time. I expect to be treated equally the same as the rest of the Latino patrons. Never thought I'd have to say this but this is the 3rd time I was either ignored in line , completely skipped over by someone who came in behind me, or they take my order and make it after someone who came in after me. When I say I WON'T be returning I REALLY MEAN THAT. P.s I've came through here ordered tacos and the younger lady mimicked Jamaican reggae tunes. Just straight disrespectful. I won't be spending money with a business that doesn't treat its patrons EQUALLY!! Z E R O STARS

11/6/23 today i stopped in and ordered a burrito and chicken quesadilla with my girlfriend. We decided to eat there at the tables in front of the store. My girlfriend looks over at the woman who made our food. The woman picked up a spoon of food from the food island puts it on her glove tasted the food and used the spoon to wipe the food off her hand back into the pan of food in the island that she served us. To me that is disgusting and I'm going to notify the health department about this. I'll never come back to this place again.

I witnessed a server put food in her gloved hand and eat it ,Scrap the rest of the food back into the container to be served to other customers. Absolutely disgusting, I ordered chicken Quesadilla and it looked like throw up .We left and won't be back .

Food is great, but having RACIST employees brings a company down...On 9/1/23 my boyfriend went to to get our dinner and the cashier made racist remarks towards him. DO BETTER... Kindness is free.

3-stars because I admit the tacos are good. But I would never go back here. I've lived in and been to plenty of rough towns in my life. So I don't mind a neighborhood that keeps it real. But when I was waiting outside for my friend across the street, an old Hispanic man standing outside Bonito, waved at me to get of here. I walked up in a friendly way and asked if there was a problem. He said I can't just stand around (as if I loitering. But I had literally been there for 2 minutes). I said I'm here for tacos. He said you have 5 minutes; go get your tacos and leave. I said but my friend is not here yet, I'm waiting for him. He didn't want to hear it. I asked him if he worked at Bonito. At least if he was the manager or something he may have the right to not want "my kind" around his establishment. He of course would not answer. I don't get it. I'm a pretty understanding person. But I'm a doctor. Nothing about my clothing or appearance is a red flag for a drug dealer or armed criminal. So the only conclusion I can entertain is that it's a rough neighborhood and they don't want you there. Fine by me. I'm from California so I've had plenty of tacos in my life. I can eat something else. Maybe after a while I'll try the Bonito in Olathe. People around there are nice.
