First of all, it should be known to the reader that I was born in KCK, in the 70's, and have been a longtime and loyal customer of Fritz's, for literally ALL of my nearly 50 year life. I now reside in Texas, and recently traveled home with my new wife. She wanted to see where I'm from, what I call home. Fritz's is a part of that heritage for me. So we went there for breakfast. The food was very good, on point, as usual. The service was adequate, as was expected. However...... THE DAMN TRAIN was broken, not working!!! That was kinda the whole point!!!! The novelty of having the train bring your food to your table is pretty much the "staple attraction". It's the ONE thing that separates Fritz's from any other normal to better-than-average local food joint. The train was definitely the reason for our visit, and the reason my wife was not only a bit disappointed, but overall very unimpressed with Fritz's. I strongly recommend you guys get that fixed. There are other places in town that serve better food in a cleaner environment and nicer neighborhood. Without the train running, Fritz's is on borrowed time. Please don't let one of my fondest childhood memories die like so many others already have......
Stopped in for lunch. Instead of ordering my regular gendered, I ordered a hickory burger. My mistake. The hubby ordered a gendare double, next time I will stick to mu usual. There was very little hickory about my burger, just an average burger. The size of an order of onion rings has shrunk. We have always split an order, I think we haf 4 rings and a tiny little ring. They were ubergreasy and just not that great.

I far prefer this location to the Crown Plaza. The staff is much kinder and personable. I also believe the food is better. They have, hands down, the best hash browns in the area. Then again, I've never been unhappy with the food and I always bring my friends who visit from out of state here.

The food was cooked perfectly. The server was new to the job, so she was extra careful to do things just right. I really liked her. She was so attentive. The atmosphere is fun with them train theme.Kid-friendliness: They would love the train theme.
Does not look like it has been updated in decades, which may be an issue for some but I think it makes this place great. The trains are fun but duck your head.

The coolest little spot on KC. Hole in the wall burger place. Every order cooked to order. Great for kids!!! And SO cheap for the quality ❤❤❤

A ton of fun and reasonable prices. My wife and I noticed we were only ones without kids. Wished we had a grandkid or two with us. The kids had so much fun watching the trains deliver the food. A bit of a limited menu but what we had was good. Get there early or expect a wait.
