We ate at this restaurant for two nights! Kari our waitress was incredible, she was warm, friendly, informative, and made great suggestions. They did not have exactly what I wanted but Kari made it happen. The food was delicious and I plan to go back and I will look for Kari to be our waitress! A great experience.

It was after a big KU win so obviously it was busy. Seated quickly. Wait staff was very friendly, food served quickly and it was AWESOME!

The service was not bad. The best part of the meal was tbe appetizer of chips and queso. The shrimp Caesar wrap was underwhelming. The grilled shrimp had very little flavor and was a bit overcooked. And the croutons in both the wrap and the Caesar salad were soggy, despite the salad being underdressed. On the positive side, the onion rings and sweet potato fries were highlights. Overall takeaway for the meal is the quality doesn't live up to the price.

Although only 3 stars I still have to recommend this bar and grill in the Oread Hotel. It's one of very few options in Lawrence Kansas open M/T/W Also there is never a wait and I almost gave a 4th star for ambiance alone. Prices are ok Serving size ok We ordered a house salad with chicken and the kitchen made a mistake. Our server was great and in training very polite. The correction was made with no issue. The Cod is a generous portion- needed more of the sauce it came with (not tartar sauce) and a little dry. The house salad (sorry missed the picture opportunity) was delicious and the home made ranch is spot on. 3* for now - going back to let them earn that 4th * because when I visit my daughter at KU our other options are closed and the hotel is beautiful.

Chloe was an amazing server and has such a bubbly personality. The restaurant wasn't noisy and food was decent. It was the perfect way to wrap up our stay at The Oread. My group had the Brioche French toast, an omelet, and biscuits and gravy which we'd all order again.

Chicken tenders looked and tasted like straight out of a bag of Sams frozen. Dry, thick, tasteless breading... left most on the plate. Good fries and ok street tacos.

We went for restaurant week and arrived at 6:00. We ordered some drinks and the tasting menu. At 7:10 I asked to see a manager because we had only received one course (soup) in the hour. Manager was very nice and did not charge us as we had to leave for a 7:30 event. The soup was good, but food was too slow, especially with lots of empty tables in the restaurant. I give great credit to the manager, but we were just out of time.

Kitchen was super behind. The server was great and kept us up to date, but it took 40 minutes to get chips and salsa, then an additional 30 minutes to get our burgers. Food was only ok.

It was not busy early Friday evening but our server did not arrive for over 15 minutes after we were seated despite there being ample staff present. The food menu was not appealing, even for a sports bar, so we politely requested two drinks and the bill. We waited for over 20 minutes for our server to bring the bill but he was no where to be found even after I was forced to say something. The young staff were standing near the bar, chatting with each other, while the few patrons present sat unattended. Highly unpleasant experience for reasonable people with reasonable service expectations.Be wary when GoogleMaps busy meter shows a restaurant as ‘not busy’ on a Friday, early evening. Lesson learned. What a waste because it is a beautiful place.

The buffet area was really pretty and the food was good. Unfortunately there was bacon in the mashed potatoes so that turned a lot of people off who don't eat pork, including some of my family members. They should have considered that and had a vegetarian option. We had a table in the very back of the large room so there were no windows and the service was not good. We felt like we were basically forgotten back there. We had to track someone down for service from the time we got there and throughout the meal. They added a 21% gratuity because there were six of us in our party. Normally for decent service I would tip more than that even for a buffet on Thanksgiving, but in this case I felt like it was much more than the service that we received. We even had to track someone down just so we could pay to leave. For the price I would not recommend it or go back again.

The atmosphere in the beautiful Oread is very nice, went here with our KU daughter to watch a game. However the food was so disappointing. We only had appetizers but all were not good. Overcooked chicken tenders and chicken wings, and the pulled pork nachos were not good either. I've had better food at a concession stand.
