Quality pastries and delicious food menu— all at a reasonable price! This spot has become my go-to to take friends out for breakfast or lunch. Wonderful atmosphere and always a friendly staff experience! 10/10

I should have reviewed this place years ago! We go here almost weekly to eat. Everything we’ve ever gotten has been top notch. Notable favorites are the financiers (and their frosting is dyed with fruit juices, not food dye! They’re also gluten free -made from almond flour - if you’re looking for that.), their ham and egg omelette sandwich, their fried chicken sandwich, and the rose cardamom latte. And my son is obsessed with their gateau Breton (a buttery cake with different delicious jams inside - so good!). All of our kids love going here and the employees have always been welcoming and kind. We love grabbing it to go and taking to nearby South Park or eating there and admiring the many squirrel and hot balloon decorations that adorn the inside. You can’t go wrong with anything here!

Delicious butterscotch latte! Wonderful variety of pastries. My fave was the candle, but the pistachio tarts were tasty too!

Stopped in for lunch today. Had the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich combo. So good. The soup had just a hint of zip; nice on a blustery day. The sandwich was made with several different cheeses, a blackberry jam, on artisan bread. Yes! This intimate joint is popular and special

The atmosphere here is pleasant; decor is very clean and cozy, and the coffee is consistently excellent. The food and baked goods are just okay. The sweet baked goods are generally pretty on the mark, but the savory baked goods and food items are consistently unimpressive. The bagels and the homemade wraps are very oversalted, and the texture of both is so chewy that you can barely get through them without a fork and knife. If you order cream cheese on the bagel, it's an incredibly messy affair because when you try to bite into the bagel, the texture is so chewy that you really have to gnaw to break it off, and by that point the cream cheese has squished out everywhere. Sandwiches, in my experience, are also quite oversalted. Some people love that type of flavor profile, but it isn't for me.

Delicious baked goods, not the biggest selection but everything I tried was so good and high quality. Nothing was a disappointment. I had a za'tar bagel with cream cheese and it had a good chewiness to it. Babka is really nice and not too sweet, perfect to pair with a cup of coffee. Definitely try the caneles and financiers, they are like nothing else.

Cellar door has become a favorite spot in downtown lawrence for me! The food is incredible- professional pastries with a midwestern heartiness, and the atmosphere is cozy, modern, and focused on connection. There are no outlets or wifi if you’re looking to be on your devices. But come with a friend or a book and settle in to local charm. Also, I’m gluten free and I order the ham and egg sandwich on corn tortillas!

The spot was wonderful! I loved the food, it was very savory. I'd definitely recommend this if you want to go out with someone in the morning, although I'm not sure if it would be as family suitable because the space is smaller.

Absolutely love this place. Everything has tasted great. They have always been really friendly and accommodating with regards to my dairy allergy. They have a lot of non-dairy items.

Amazing food and service. Only disappointment is that we were on our way out of town and could only enjoy one meal here! Fantastic salmon sandwich on dill pickle bagel and biscuit with gravy. Daughter had a pretzel roll and a side of scrambled egg. She had to fight us off because we kept trying to steal bites of her pretzel - it could not be helped! Got some pastries to go and can't wait to dig in.

The 20 percent add on tip to every order is outrageous. This is a coffee shop. I don’t need to pay an extra 20 percent to be handed a bagel! I won’t be back ever.

Only place in town with fresh bagels! Pastries/bread are awesome and good coffee. Also if you are a veggie get the egg and cheese but add impossible sausage, best breakfast sandwich I have ever had! This and Barker are probably the best in town!

Umm… I loved everything about this place. The food was great, flavor and quality ingredients. The staff were so invested in what they were doing. Tips are already included in your check. I was dealing with a…. challenging situation and hadn’t had lunch. Oh what a lunch!! Thank you!!!Vegetarian options: More of a ‘lots of veggies’ place and less of an ‘iceberg lettuce salad or bread and cheese’ place for vegetarian options.Dietary restrictions: They were out of falafel which put me out of a protein source (that I liked) and I was fine with that cause I didn’t want to cause an issue. But the cashier said “that’s too much money for no protein” and helped me out with substitutions.
