Absolute peak sushi experience. If you don’t get this for takeout or in restaurant sushi for Lawrence (or even NE KS) then you’re playing yourself. Some of the best sushi in the Midwest and worth a try. Coconut Gigolo is SLEPT on.

I really, really dislike giving anything other than 5 stars at restaurants. And to be honest, I had been here a couple times before and had no issue. But the last time I went, I was pretty disappointed.The first red flag was being given low sodium generic HyVee soy sauce. I don't mind the brand, but low sodium is where I take issue, and when I asked for regular it just seemed like a huge drag for him to get me some (packets).I got sashimi which was my first mistake, $7 for a disappointing portion size. I mentioned it to the waiter, which was my next mistake, instead of being understanding he argued with me about it. I said its okay, I dont need anything changed or taken off just that maybe they should consider it. I should also mention it was served on a bed of lettuce with a lemon wedge, something very unusual for Sashimi, i assume was to make it look like more than it was.He brought me a couple extra pieces (a worse cut of the fish) and although i appreciated the gesture, it didn't seem that he was doing it to be nice, just to prove his point that "bigger pieces just means it is sliced thinner, and its the same volume." That was not in question to begin with, it was the overall portion that was small.There were dozens of ways he could have handled this better, and pretty much all of it came down to attitude. It just felt disrespectful and spiteful. I love sushi so much, the whole fiasco ruined my meal. I regret saying anything, and I don't want to see that waiter again so I just won't be back.

Went here with my wife and my 17-year-old nephew on a third a Sunday afternoon to dine in. The atmosphere was so comfortable and cozy. For appetizers we got the popcorn chicken, potstickers, and some kind of shrimp crispy thing that was incredible. Actually, all of the appetizers were great. I got the Sydney roll and frankly it is the best sushi I've had in Kansas in the past 12 to 13 years I've been living here , my wife and nephew got some fried sushi which I normally don't like at all, but was actually pretty good, they said it was absolutely delicious. I would come here every week cannot recommend highly enough. The service was extremely friendly, attentive, and personal.
