Food-5 starsService-4 starsAtmosphere/ambiance-5 starsCleanliness-5 starsCost/value-5 starsVery cool place to eat, drink, play games and hangout with friends.I came here for the first time with my family. Our waiter was very nice.We ordered a rose lemonade, strawberry lemonade and Violet lemonade. They were super yummy! I liked the rose the most. Couldn’t taste the violet as much. They also had a lavender lemonade. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer. It was delicious! Very good! We ate every morsel. For lunch we ordered the green goddess salad with chicken, the house salad with chicken, the grilled cheese sandwich with waffle fries, the kid’s chicken tenders with mac and cheese, and the pub chicken sandwich with waffle fries. Everything was delicious! My salad could have had more dressing on it, but it was good and I should probably not be eating so much dressing anyway. Everything was very fresh. We had leftovers of the salads and my husband couldn’t finish his waffle fries. They’re pretty big. The prices are pretty reasonable. We were there just before happy hour started, so the prices would have been even better if we had come a little later. For three of us with drinks, appetizer, and meals, our total was $80 with tip. They have TONS of board games! We had two little ones with us so we didn’t play any games that day, but I would love to go back and play some games sometime with the adults.I only give 4 stars because while our waiter was very nice, he kinda disappeared and never returned. We waited for the check and a to-go box, but eventually a lady came by and finished taking care of us. The 15% tip was included in the check, so we left it at that.I will definitely be back.

Hands down, one of the best entertainment venues we've attended. The bar tend makes the most eclectic and amazing cocktails that are smooth and delicious. The burgers were perfectly grilled and were really, really tasty. We came for the murder mystery, 'A Totally Rad 80's Murder'. The script was easy to follow and allowed for ad lib. The people in our group were fun, outgoing, and made the event an absolute blast. ?

Fun! Great way to meet a new friend. We played Scrabble and snack on the delicious nachos. What was suppose to be a hour-ish “date” turned into a four hour fantastic memory.

The staff was very nice and friendly! The choice of food and drink was excellent! Great place to get together with family and friends.

We really enjoyed the experience. We liked the eclectic nature of the food and drink, and that there were fancy drinks that were non-alcoholic. Paying to play the games was a bit of a surprise, only because that is not the experience that we have elsewhere, like at Tabletop in Overland Park, but it makes sense, because TT has the games to buy, which is how they make their money from letting you play the games. $20 for four people renting as many games for as long as they want is not a bad deal, but might not make sense for someone not spending a lot of time and just wants something to help pass the time.Vegetarian options: Lots of great, clearly marked vegan and vegetarian options.Kid-friendliness: The non-alcoholic drinks were a hit with the kiddos!Parking: Remember Sunday parking on Mass is free--that's a big plus!Dietary restrictions: We have someone that does not like the way dairy makes them feel, and accommodations were made to help them enjoy items that would otherwise have dairy (tatziki on the side). The host/server was very knowledgeable and even when I thought I had an idea for how to make a dish dairy free, they corrected me and stated that bread the dish came with had milk, and there would not be a way to make that dish dairy free—which is a lot better than guessing, which is what most places do.

We attended trivia and had a poor experience. The trivia gave you maybe 10 seconds to answer questions, one of the waitresses was insanely rude, and service was wildly slow for a room of 50 people. Thanks for hosting trivia as we love it but allow more time for people to answer and have some better structure.Response to Owner: Fortunately, I did take proactive steps to let your staff know I planned on bringing 20-25 people on the 25th. I called the week of Jan. 9th asking what the capacity for trivia was and how me bringing 20-25 people would work team wise. They let me know to come early so I could get tables and teams would be no more than 8 per. When we arrived, I let me crew know that we had to be in groups of eight. However, we had a 25th person show up and I did not want them to sit by themself and asked the trivia host if I could have a 9th at one table. She said that would be no problem. Our group not liking the trivia isn’t the main issue we had. It was chaotic and hard to track and WAY too fast with the time limit to answer. The main piece was a waitress getting extremely rude with our table of nine after I went out of my way to confirm we wouldn’t be causing an issue.I appreciate your response, appreciate that y’all host trivia, and hope the staff communicates better with each other in the future and in a much kinder way to guests who aren’t looking to cause issues but enjoy a night out.

I really wanted to like RPG but after this third visit, I have to make the call. Food and service are sub par and it's just too expensive for what you get. This last trip, we waited over 45 min for our food until we finally asked about it. The server brought it out immediately and said it just came out of the kitchen. Every entree was warm so it had clearly been forgotten about and left to sit. No apology. No acknowledgement. Just an pricy check with a surprise $5 board game free because we participated in the trivia event.

Foods good but not worth the high prices they charge. Also, we were charged a ~10% 'hospitality fee' could've figure out what that was for as besides taking our order and bringing us food there wasn't any extra 'hospitality' involved. Loved the collection of games though.

OMG.Firstly, whether you are into board games or not, come here for the food and drinks. Wonderful selection of stuff. I highly recommend a drink called Chips Are Down; Tito's vodka and soda, cucumber, pama liquor, lime, pomegranate pearls. Lovely and refreshing. My husband had the Butterbeer... wow... KC Bier Co Dunkel, rum, Barq's root beer, and housemade butterscotch sauce. It came in a HUGE glass. For food, we decided on the Mac n Cheese with added fried chicken which was ridiculously good. We also had the Chicken Tinga Tacos which were nice. My only real critique is they should not add green bell pepper to the tacos; it really took away from the rest of the yummy flavors. My friend let me try her General Tso's Cauliflower over fried rice which was so good, I plan to have that when I return. We brought our own games to play but their selection is impressive and the variety is great. The restrooms were clean; probably one of the nicest smelling bathrooms I've been to in a while. The service was good. They add 15% gratuity which I like. Definitely coming back.

We were in town for the weekend and stopped in. We have never been before so we had some questions when we arrived... 3 to be exact. The young lady who greeted us was the rudest person I have ever meet. We asked our 3rd question and she snaps "I am busy and don't have time for this"... she asked how many we had and we and she proceeded to walk away as saying "You need a reservation". Keep in mind there was hardly anyone there. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone that is in the service industry.

We hosted our Christmas Party at RPG a couple of weeks ago! It was a fantastic experience. I was able to relax and know that we would have great food and fun! It was the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season with our staff from Uplift Coffee Shop. A huge thank you to the staff at RPG for a wonderful evening. You helped make our evening special.

This is probably a no for me in the future. I'm torn between a 2-3 because I think the food was a 3, the atmosphere is a 4, the prices are a 3, and the service is a 2 at best. It's nice that large groups can be accommodated here with a reservation, and there's a big game selection and plenty of table space. The food was fine if a little overpriced, but it took about 45 minutes to arrive. Our drinks were pricey and small and took at least 20 minutes after we ordered them to receive them. But the biggest issue for me was the lack of any emotion or attempt at friendliness from the servers. We were served our food with no napkins or silverware, no condiments, and the servers NEVER asked if we needed anything. We had to wave at them or flag them down to ask for something, and it felt like we were being a bother every time someone from our large group needed anything. Rather than ask everyone at once, the server would walk away as soon as someone requested something, and they'd come back and another person would need something! Doesn't make sense. This is a cool concept for a board game bar, but if you're going to be a full service restaurant as well, customers should be able to eat a comfortable meal and not feel left to their own devices.

RPG is a gem. Some of the best food in Lawrence hands down. The menu is diverse and creative, absolutely worth a try if you haven’t already. You can still come here even if you are not interested in playing games.

Butterbeer is nasty. Mac and cheese tasted like alfredo. But selection of board games ROCKS.
