Bravo Italian Kitchen - Leawood is a regular stop for us. We enjoy the convenience, food and ambience. The challenge with this location is that you never know who is making your drinks. Sometimes they come immediately and other times they take a while and arrive with the ice already melted. The food is always good but on this occasion our bread didn't come until after our salads, then our food came before we could get halfway through our salads. Service and drinks are consistently the weak link at this location but not bad enough to keep us from returning.

Ups and downs have been the reality of this troubled restaurant. They got it right last weekend! Food was very tasty, hot bread with dipping oil at the beginning, chopped salad was a delight, and eggplant Parmesan was just right! Thus deserves another visit, hopefully our faith in their ‘return' will be rewarded!

The food was very well prepared and the Restaurant is clean & well lit, but the service was slow and inattentive. Bravo is one of our favorite places for a family dinner or date night.

The jazz quintet was wonderful. If they could play a bit softer it would be nice. My husband and I liked it so much we will return to sit in the bar, have a drink and enjoy the tunes.

I didn't even get to eat. I sat down and the waiter informed me it would be a long time until he could help me. I sat for 20 min..no water, no bread, no drinks or menu. So I just got up and left and went to Hereford house. There were people waiting at bravo and I told them good luck, they shouldn't wait to just be ignored.

We arrived and there were only 2 waiters, no host, the manager was bussing tables and the cooks were serving the food. Seems like a staffing issue, however this was on Valentine's Day. We ended up leaving.

Left as there were 10 people waiting to be seated & no host/hostess.... & no manager to be found. Normally have a great experience at Bravo but something was very off Val Day nite

We walked in and waited a bit for a hostess to seat us. The bar was closed because they didn't have a bartender on duty. At one point the Sous Chef was filling in as hostess and there only appeared to be 2 servers. As guests left, tables were left full of dirty dishes. Our food took a long time and was delivered to our table too hot too touch, indicating it was sitting under a heat lamp for awhile.

We had a reservation for 8 PM, however, we're not seated till about 845. The host was not at the front desk most of the time. And even though there were several folks ahead of us who had been waiting for a while. People who would walk in would get seated before them, host experience was terrible.

We arrived early at the restaurant only to find the bar was closed because the bartender didn't show up. There wasn't a hostess and there was a mob of teenagers waiting for tables before their sweetheart dance. It is as a catastrophe! We were waiting when a young couple was exiting and told us it took 1 /2 hours to get their food. After that we left ....... Obviously they don't have enough good help as this was the second time we experienced this.

We never got seated for dinner even though we had a reservation for 2. There were about 100 high school kids there as well dining prior to a school dance and some of them were not seated as well. Restaurant not organized or prepared for their evening of guests.

Our server was the only good part of our experience. She was obviously overworked; hopefully not under appreciated! The food was terrible. We all ordered entrees that were marked on the menu as “customer favorites”. Three ordered the Pasta Woozie, all three were very hungry so the men ate theirs anyway. The two that ate theirs both had stomach symptoms starting around 3am and lasting through the following day. The third person was ok but barely ate her pasta. I ordered the Chicken Chopped Salad which was terrible. The chicken was seasoned too heavily and a very strange rubbery texture. I saw one piece of Gorgonzola in my salad, no pecans and it was swimming in dressing. After about 5 bites I was done. We did order 2 of the Crème brûlée which was good and much needed since 2 of us were still hungry. We didn't complain to our server as we know it was not her fault but of course at that time we didn't know people would get sick from what they had been served. We will not be back.

The staff was overwhelmed by the number of people at the restaurant. The restaurant should accept reservations based upon the number of servers. The bar area was not cleaned up and there was one bartender who clearly needed help. We were not seated until 8 for a 7:30 reservation. Then did not see a server for 15 minutes. Then just bread and water for another 15 minutes. Took wine order and disappeared for another 15. Brought wine but did not stay to take our food order. Finally took our order. Food arrived around 9. So sad to see Bravo in this condition. I realize staffing is a mess but would recommend restaurants match their time slots to staffing levels taking Take Out orders into consideration.

I love this restaurant and food but they are consistently understaffed. I understand this is a common difficulty industry-wide, but I think it's time for the management of this restaurant to look at how to improve this ongoing issue. I feel for the staff who is overworked and running around like crazy while also being hounded for “poor service.” I hope they can get back to their previous service and standards, soon.
