I’ve hesitated writing this review, but the gender reveal cake I ordered was not as ordered. The colors were not pastel as I wanted, I did not ask for a gold bear and the writing was way too big. The fondant balls had many cracks in them and the work looked extremely sloppy. I also wanted a tall standing cake rather than a short fat cake. The cake itself did not taste very good and most of it was thrown away. It honestly tasted like a box mix with a cool whip-ish filling. To say I’m extremely disappointed is an understatement because for $183 (plus tip on top of that) the cake should’ve been darn near close to the picture I provided. If you cannot replicate a cake, PLEASE tell your customers that instead of having them show up to be disappointed!

Kay is amazing! I will never forget the day she welcomed my daughter and now son in law into her home for cake tasting. It was unforgettable! She had at least 5 huge albums full of masterpieces she had created for events and she had 5 pieces of the most delicious cake we had ever had for each of us to try. Different cake and filling options. She sat with Ashlen and CJ and together they designed what was to be their masterpiece. With all the things to look forward to on their wedding day they were most excited to see the cake they designed. Kay is a cake artist and everything was executed to perfection. In addition to being so talented she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet and having the privilege of working with. We would highly recommend her to everyone. 10 stars!

After 1 year from the date of my daughters wedding, I found part of her cake in my deep freeze. Since I believe you should never waste great cake, haha, I thawed it out and served to my husband, not telling him it was the wedding cake from over 1 year ago. He asked where I bought that cake. He said it was the best he has ever tasted. After he finished his piece I told him what I found in the freezer! Kay not only has the most beautiful cakes around but they taste even better. Would recommend take the cake to anyone looking for an amazing wedding cake experience. If you can dream it, she can build it.

We ordered a cake for our office Christmas party and it was amazing! Kay had our logo on the cake and made it to look like a beautifully wrapped Christmas present. Everyone in the office was amazed when I brought it out, but that was nothing compared to the compliments after they tasted it. Seriously - it was the best cake I have ever had. I would definitely recommend Take the Cake for any event and we will be including them in all our future events. Thanks so much for a great experience!
