Just had lunch at Red Kitchen KC and it was WONDERFUL! The staff and owner were so friendly and I absolutely loved their lunch special. So glad to have this in the Downtown OP neighborhood!

The best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Time to give the new location a try this week for lunch.

I kept forgetting to leave this review. Managing to before they move locations at least.Red Kitchen has been a staple of my diet for about four years now. I've been going since they were just a stall in the Public Market. Alejandra, the owner, is incredibly nice. Scantly had any negative experience at all.Yummy breakfast burritos, yummy tacos, yummy toastadas.Incidentally I've only tried their tamales once (because the owner gave me one for free!) -- the item that made Red Kitchen popular. But it was tasty!Just nice, comfortable food.I see some reviews complain about the fact Red Kitchen uses pre-made tortillas for many menu items. I don't find that to be a problem:- Firstly, the pork fat tortillas seem to be made by another local business in Kansas City.- Secondly, it's no more out of the ordinary to me than Joe's BBQ using plain white bread for pulled pork sandwiches. No one ever complains about that. The star of the show is the meat & other filling, not the "bread."I also see at least one review complain that they aren't "authentic"? If she's not busy, talk to Alejandra even for a second. That's all the proof you need that she strives to make "the real deal."

Such a disappointment here. There is no interaction with staff - you are on your own to figure out how to order from a kiosk on their counter by looking at pictures. There are no descriptions of what combos include. I ordered the tamale combo and got three very small tamales, rice and refried beans (all microwaved in front of me). I asked for water and they said they had none and to go to another shop and see if they might. I also asked for salsa or hot sauce to add to the very bland, dry-looking, tiny tamales and they said they had none. Next, I politely asked for a refund as I did not eat any of this pathetic food. The worker didn't know how and she could not contact the owner to find out. Won't be going back.

Authentic birria tacos, tamales and burritos!! If you’re in the area, this is the spot you need to stop and visit. We ordered both the chorizo and bacon burritos which had high quality meat. We also had the birria tacos which were the best I’ve had in a very long time. While we were eating, we noticed the ladies in the back were making fresh tamales. Yum!! Alejandra, the owner, was so kind and made us feel right at home. Definitely recommend this place!!

Food is great, service is great... why 3 stars?:Hours. They close at 2:00pm?? Appetizers. They have NONE!No queso, no chips & salsa. But they do make a great burrito

Swing through for lunch and walked out stuffed. The portions are large, staff is friendly and place is kept clean. Would recommend!

This is our favorite Saturday morning stop. The breakfast burritos are great! We also like the fresh made tamales. Alejandra is so welcoming and kind. When we go for lunch, the burritos are the best in town. Highly recommend!

Very rude woman serving food. Food mediocre. Store bought pre-made tortillas for tostada. No 'extra' salsa available. No jalapeños. Not

Alejandra's burritoes are the BEST! I have eaten them almost every Saturday for the past six years with my group of running friends. I also buy her plain tortillas to fix at home because they are so much better than store bought. Her dedication to her craft, her customers, and her employees is unmatched.
