In reference to the previous negative review by Ally Smith on 22 March, 2024:I am the customer who caused the issue at this establishment. After driving around OP, then Olathe, for nearly 2 hours, trying to find a place to SIT and eat, we begged the manager at Vader’s to help us out. (By me, I mean myself, my wife, and our 3 year old, one year old, and 4 week old). The 4 week old was ready to nurse and my wife really needed a place to sit… it had been a day for us.I sincerely wish to apologize to the party who was disturbed by us. We thought they may understand our need and consider giving us the courtesy. Had they stayed around, I would have gladly payed their bill in exchange for their kindness. However, they left so abruptly that I wasn’t even given the chance to offer that accommodation.EDIT: There were plenty of high top tables and bar seats available, but only one large table to accommodate a family. This party of 2 was asked if they would consider moving from the large table to a smaller table, but not asked to leave.Perhaps I am old fashioned, but I am appalled of the knee-jerk reaction of this customer to leave without tipping, and then make libelous claims about the encounter on Google. It was a situation, but we didn’t expect that it would offend them so egregiously. On principle, I will support this business by patronage and word of mouth as long as I can. The owner was overly kind and did nothing to deserve this poor slander. If you like amazing food and respect old school values, come here and eat, you won’t be disappointed!Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating of our family. 10/10.

Food is amazing. I have celiac and have no issues. However, we just got asked to move in the middle of our meal so they could seat another table ? I drove 40 minutes to eat here to accommodate my celiac disease but 15 minutes into my guest experience was asked to leave. I was chased out the door by the owner who yelled “it’s not the servers fault” because I did not tip a full 20% when I only finished 1/2 of my meal. Horrible management. Won’t be returning.

We rarely are near downtown when we are ready for a meal. We have heard good things about this place from a few friends. So we decided to try today. There was a moldy musty smell. It triggered my allergies and my wife's. Besides that, most people occupied the booths, but they did have high top tables too. We got excellent service from the owner himself. I hope that doesn't mean he is having trouble with the business. The food was excellent. I had the Reuben. He said they sell allot of them. I am a sucker for trying them any place I go. This was awesome. You could tell the meat was fresh and the kraut was fresh too. The owner said they make the Thousand Island dressing fresh in house. The bread was a toasted marble rye. Yummy. In the picture half the sandwich is gone. I would come back for this alone, but some much looked good. The wife had a pork tenderloin sandwich. They make them from scratch off course. It was larger than the bun, but not super large like some places. It was much thicker than most so you actually got flavor from the pork. In the picture she cut off much of the over flow from the bun. She had a bag of chips. I tried the Parm fries. Those were yummy. I got a side of Vader sauce to dip them in. The Vader sauce is used on many dishes. It is like a fry sauce made of ketchup and mayo with mild spice. So you get tiny bit of heat. Yummy again. We also had the potato balls as an appetizer. They were scooped out baked potatoes with some sour cream and bacon mixed in then rolled up and fried. They were amazing. You get 6 and it is more than enough. We had beer ?? the boulevard beers they had on draft hit the spot. Boulevard wheat and Irish as I said, we now will go out of our way to eat at this place. We are so glad we tried it.

This place is definitely a dive but the food is surprisingly very good (100% everyone has liked their meal so far). It's also one of the few places we go where my celiac family member can consistently eat without worries. Super cheap drinks too. A+

We have been looking for a place that accommodates gluten free eaters for awhile. And I had looked at reviews prior to going but we decided to give it a try. The best chicken sandwich I’ve had in a long while. It was huge and delicious. My fiancé is gluten free so he loved the gluten free beer and food options also. Also it has a bar like atmosphere, so it’s exactly what we had wanted/ expected. Every person we interacted with was kind and helpful even though they were busy. Our food and drinks were out in a very timely manner. And our waitress kept our sodas filled.. great experience. Was very impressed! We will be back!

A gluten free crispy chicken sandwich with a homemade sauce is what keeps us driving from Liberty Mo to Olathe. The food is great. Love the back outdoor area. Friendly servers. Love supporting mom and pop places as well.

Hard to describe. I'll need to come back and try something else to get a better viewpoint on this place. My son and I came in for a late lunch and a couple of drinks (for me, he was driving). He had a burger and fries, and he doesn't eat his burgers with rabbit food on them, so he really tastes the meat. His opinion was that the burger was unusually small (diameter wise) and the meat was overcooked. He really didn't like his meal, but was very hungry and ate it all anyway. He said the parmesan fries were very good, and the only thing he liked.I had the pork tenderloin sandwich, and I liked it very much. I tried a bite of the tenderloin all by itself without the other condiments that came on the sandwich, and I felt that the breading wasn't very well seasoned, but the pork tenderloin did have good enough flavor. I asked for the horseradish along with the sandwich and spread it all over the tenderloin before eating. That pumped up the flavor to the 5 star level for me.So, overall, I'm giving Vader's 3 stars until I have a chance to try other things here.Service was okay. Left a 22% tip for the guy. I normally tip around 30% these days for really good service.Anyway. This was an okay meal but my son won't be back for sure. I will try it again and update my review when I do.
