Nom nom nom... This location is a hidden gem. We made a reservation for just the wife and I for a special occasion. We got there and were seated immediately. The place is broken up into several dining "rooms", rather than just one big space. So noise is limited to just the other parties that have been seated in your section. We could see this as being a good or bad situation depending on the other parties... Looking over the menu there are a number of appetizing options. We ended up going with the "meal for two". It's a 4 course meal for two people. Shared appetizer and dessert, but diners can choose between the soup or salad, and a pared down list of entrees. All this for $99. And they don't skimp on the portions. I can eat a lot and we both still ended up coming home with leftovers. Our server was attentive but didn't hover. She was patient and informative with her answers to our questions. Food came out at a good speed for there to be little wait between courses. Our drinks were refilled when appropriate. For our appetizer we chose the goat cheese with habanero jam. The heat of the jam was well balanced with the cheese. They give way more than what can fit on the bruschetta. For the second course, we could choose between a prime rib stew and 1957 salad. We both went with the salad. The size was good and there was plenty of stuff on top. Dressings were good too.Third course, the wife went with the petit oscar (5oz bacon-wrapped beef tenderloin, lump blue crab meat). She usually gets fillet mignon, but really liked this as well. I had the pork chop(s). The menu says plural, but honestly, they are the meat of one thick cut chop with the bone removed. I know my pork chops... Don't get me wrong. It's a lot of meat with or without the bone. It was grilled to perfection. So juicy... Compliments to the boys in the kitchen! I had sides of Parm broccoli and sweet potato fries. The broccoli was perfectly steamed. Done but still a lot of crunch. No mushy greens here. The sweet potato fries are waffle cut and also done to perfection. Crispy and sweet. It's so easy to mess up sweet potato fries for them to come out mushy and bland. Not here.Dessert: we went with the cheese cake but got it to go. We were just to full to eat it there. But come on... It's cheese cake. This location of this KC steakhouse is a literally hidden. It's on the west side of 435 on Midland Dr. Only other thing there are a couple hotels. On a Saturday night there were a lot of tables open. Maybe everyone is at home watching basketball. Don't know. But the kitchen knows what's up. The server we had was top notch. It was a real treat to get this quality without being crowded. We had a wonderful meal and were able to have nice conversation without trying to talk over a near by table. The only negative, and I say this after sitting there for 90min, the chairs could be a bit more comfy. My rear needed something else after the first 60min.. I know.. it's nit-picking. Everything else was grand for our special occasion.

First steak not cooked as ordered, second steak smelled off. My salad was just meh. We ate at golden ox a couple of weeks ago. No comparison. We won't go back to Hereford House.

Our waitress was great. Got the Herf & Surf and the filet was extremely small, like somewhere between a 50 cent piece and silver dollar. Lobster really didn't seem that fresh, not that great for the price. Also they no longer honor the KC Originals card, no offer to compensate for accumulated points either. Dessert was good, but just no longer the premier steak place in KC that it used to be. A bit expensive too!Parking: Plenty of parking, I can sort of see why. Sorry HH, don't like give less than great reviews.

We took a good friend here tonight for her birthday, and it was perfect. We wanted a place that would get everything right without telling them it was a birthday. Ya'll did great. The spinach artichoke dip was great. All the salads were great. She loved the chicken fried chicken. My husband loved the meatloaf. I had the French dip, and it was heavenly. Thank you so much for doing what you always do and be top notch!

Visit on Valentine’s Day. The service was good. The food was not worth the price. The ranch potatoes were not good at all, they were undercooked and tasted like reheated potatoes. The potatoes had an off tasting seasoning to them that if it had been listed on the menu I would not have ordered them. The steak lacked seasoning and was not as tender as it should have been. The apple crisp had undercooked apples and was not good. The calamari was very good. Overall we were disappointed.

Our server Patrick could have done a little better. We had to ask another server to fill our water glasses. He didn't come by very often. I'm sure he was busy in another section as well.

Carry out- salmon tasted good which is the only reason this isn’t 1 star, but the way they packaged it… well the teenager that forgets your straw and napkins at McDonald’s would’ve done better. The meal was ruined.

Got the quinoa w/salmon to go and it was sloppy and haphazardly thrown together.... they literally put the plastic container with hummus,(that I'm sure multiple hands have touched) in the same container as the flavorless butternut squash quinoa. I got the salmon with it so altogether I paid $27 for a horrible experience! Never again!
