Running the super slabs, it’s refreshing, if you’re a driver, to spend sometime on the local state 2 laners. However, there is one drawback, there is seldom a place to eat. We were lucky and just happened upon Joans Cafe. It was just what you would expect in the middle of nowhere. It was modest, well kept, very clean, and a wonderful wholesome waitress. The coffee was hot, the water was cold, the pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were perfectly over easy, the biscuits and gravy were to die for and the sausage and bacon were the perfect cappers. This stop started our day off perfectly.

Great place to stop when driving Hiway 50. Excellent home cooking in a home feel diner. We were made to feel very welcome. Waitress was very good, kind, curious and helpful. Hats off to the cook! Loved setting listening to the regulars joke and talk football and farming.
