“This is my go-to "work from home" coffee shop for a few hours in the morning. The drinks are good, but I've always been a fan of Roasterie Coffee. The only reason I didn't give them a 5th star, is they frequently turn up the music around 8am to an almost deafening level for a coffee shop. It's rather obnoxious and usually forces me to leave so I can continue to concentrate.“

“We adore our neighbors at Sway! We grab a coffee here nearly every day and brew our own with their beans when they are closed. They are a brilliant addition to the neighborhood, the smell of beans roasting in an inviting place to grab a beverage and a McLain’s bakery treat.“

“We love Maps Coffee. We visit 4 to 5 times per week. It’s a great locally owned artisan shop and they roast their coffee in-house. I wasn’t a coffee drinker at all until Maps got me hooked. They also make their own chocolate and you can really taste the difference in quality from big-batch commercial chocolate. The staff is friendly and welcoming and within a few short visits they will call you by name and know your order. We always have great conversations with Vince and his team. The misugaru latte is my go to, but I'm also partial to the lavender vanilla and they've done a great job on seasonals as well. This is also my favorite place to get beans for coffee at home. I don't remember which varieties we've tried, but so far they have all been shockingly flavorful and unique. The sausage burrito is also one of my fave grab and go breakfast options in KC as well. It's a Korean spin on a classic sausage egg and cheese burrito, with rice and ground pork and a flavorful gochujang sauce for dipping. It's got a nice spice to it without being overwhelming (or regretful) as an early morning meal. They panini press them too so it's got a nice crunch and they are compact and easy to eat without making a mess. My only complaint? A 10oz latte is too small for me and a 16oz is too big. A petty thing to complain about? Sure. But here's hoping they invest in 12oz cups in the future!“
