Albero was closed down for an indefinite time when we tried to go last night. A note was on the door. I had called 4 times to make reservations & there was no answering machine & no website update to alert us that they've closed down and moved to their new location on Greenwich Road.

This is for Bistro Albero on Greenwich Road in Wichita. Six of us dined there on 8/29. The food and the service were positively spectacular. The starters garlic bread, brushetta, and Italian nachos were delicious. The Tuscan bean soup was piping hot and flavorful. For me the star of the show was the angel hair pasta Pesto Rosso. The pasta came with a sun-dried tomato pesto that was truly unique. There were no left-overs. The wait staff appeared to be made up of foreign exchange students, who truly knew how to wait tables. The glasses were always filled, and used dishes disappeared in an instant. The owner went out of his way to make sure that everything was as we wanted it. I will be back as will the other five.

Food was good. The service is what made it 3 stars for me. When we first walked in it took awhile to be greeted and seated. The man that sat us told us our server would be with us shortly. After waiting nearly 15min, the same man that sat us said the other server was too busy and that he would help us instead. Considering there were only 3 other occupied tables in the place, I'm not sure why that occurred. All in all I would come back and try it again bc the Cajun chicken pasta was very good.

I am really behind in writing this review. We have enjoyed Albero Cafe for years. I appreciate the variety in their menu and the quality of their dishes. I love Italian food but never stick to the same food item, I like trying different things. A special shout out to their staff, especially Mike. He's the kind of server everyone wants. We try to get him when we go there.

This is by far the best Italian food around. Every dish we had was fantastic and super flavor!! Well priced too. Friendly people. I personally had the shrimp scampi. EXCELLENT!! We will definitely be back.

The food gets a pass. I am a hard to please Italian New Yorker that has high standards as I was raised by my immigrant grandparents. Presentation was lovely and food came out timely. My favorite item was the Arancini as that is a southern Italian staple my grandmother made. It was very tasty stuffed with cheese inside. The rice could be less mushy and a bit more of it. The large house salad was nice I felt the greens could have been fresher. The pastas were cooked perfectly al dente. The sauces for both fishes were quite flavorful my only issue is there was way too much sauce on the plate. I've been known to take a little extra sauce but this was excessive. On a return trip I would ask to go easy on the sauce. Most Americans like there pasta with plenty of sauce so it might be a hot for you. I would have appreciated a really nice bread to mop the sauce up from the plate, scarpette! The service was really great. The waitstaff was friendly and tentative. I never had to ask for more water. The ambiance is casual. I would have preferred a cloth napkin rather than utensil wrapped in a paper napkin like I get at a pizzeria. Place was clean with plenty of windows. Bottom line is if your wanting some quick American Italian dinner, the price and quality is right at this place. Seemed family owned so get out and support this local small business.
My dinner was actually pretty good. I had the grilled chicken breast and I substituted roasted potatoes and veggies for pasta, which was a smart choice. The rest of us were not as lucky. The salad with pears and gorgonzola that one of us got was a mess. The rest of the foods were mediocre. The worst part was when I noticed three bullet holes in the window next to our table. They should have had that fixed right away.

Super friendly and attentive staff, delicious food and good wine selection. Wife and I were in town for a wedding, needed to stop to buy shoes at DSW, and stumbled in on this place for lunch.

I used Albero to deliver food to my brother's wake. I was extremely stressed trying to plan everything from St. Louis on a tight timeline, and Hassan could not have been more professional or helpful. He made great suggestions and was available to answer any and all questions. The food was wonderful, and the gentlemen who delivered the food took the time to make sure everything was set up correctly. He even helped me get the chafing dishes that I brought set up correctly! Just a whole other level of service beyond what I was expecting. I can't thank them enough for everything they did. My only regret is we didn't have enough time to visit the restaurant before we had to drive back, but we definitely will on our next visit.
