My wife and I were looking for some real wood fired pizza as our favorite was closed. The server had an "I don't care attitude" and her performance showed. We started off with a simple Caprese salad a classic Italian dish. 5 pieces of cheese with 2 razor thin slices of Roma tomatoes for each piece of cheeses. The salad was missing missing Olive oil, but it was drenched in Pesto which may have added to it in the Chef's opinion, but did not. So we also ordered Margarita pizza's. Wow! This was horrendous. The pizza was dry, The mozzarella cheese was old, and there was no base of tomato sauce but had sliced Roma's on top of the cheese then covered in black pepper and some red what looked like small flakes of red pepper. It was way to spicy for my wife to eat. Again, no olive oil. My own opinion is if your going to advertise on your menu 2 iconic Italian dishes then you need to at least make them like they are suppose to be made, not what you think they should be.

After not being out for a while because of the pandemic, my husband and I picked the perfect moment to visit here. It was a cold, rainy afternoon, and apparently most beers were half price. I had an amber and a blonde, which were both good. We only had an appetizer of pretzels and queso, but it was delicious. We got a 6-pack of beer to go and a pint glass for our collection. I am very glad we worked this place into our short trip to Wichita.

On the one hand, the Hopperoni Express doesn't serve Wichita Brewing Company's beer, it's more like a mobile food stand than a truck, and wait times could get lengthy with a lot of customers. On the other hand, it's the same wood-fired pizzas that you know and love from WBC. I have a theory that the ones at the Hopperoni Express are even better, because they get a little more time and attention in the oven, meaning the pizzas are super hot when they're given to you, but with a good pit of char on the crust. When it comes to pizza, char is good.
