Jacks (home of the plate sized hamburgers is a long time hidden gem in Wichita. The building is very discreet, the signage is small and the hours are limited but HOLY CRAP what a burger. Cash only but the prices are cheap. Located on thenN.E. corner of 61st St S and Hydraulic in a little brown, brick building, it's a little deceptive. But you will not regret eating there. One of the top 3 burgers in Wichita and these 3 places are always mixing it up on who is #1 that day.

It ain’t pretty, but it’s a lot of fun and has a very unique atmosphere. Burgers are huge! More like meatloaf on a bun.

I've been a high school basketball official for 35+ years. After many games the crew would go for burgers and beers and talk about the game, so I consider myself a burger snob. I can say that this is a great burger. Definitely one of my top ten and maybe even top five. Trust me that is a huge rating. I'm standard ketchup, pickle and onion (raw but will do fried) guy usually with fries. This burger is HUGE. Too much for the bun only ate about five fries because I was stuffed. I wasn't wasting this flavor on taters. A lot of places that get this rating are from old bars in small hick towns where the burgers are cooked on a old seasoned grill. I did not see that here so not sure where the richness of flavor came from. Now many of you are going to avoid this place because it's a dump. They do carry out/cash only, so don't go asking for Grey Poupon. If you base flavor on appearance you probably have a beautiful wife but a bad marriage. Sneak out and try this place for lunch like you were cheating. The small is pictured here. Start of with a small and a soft drink. Then the next time you can try the large (but why?) I could not finish the fries. Those were also really good, but this isn't a fry review, I telling you this is all about the burger. Make sure they give you at least two sheets of paper towel. Hours are spotty so call ahead. But by all means try this burger you will not be disappointed, you can't cook this at home and neither can your beautiful wife.

Another highly overrated Wichita burger joint, greasy , slow , dirty, weird in a bad way , not worth the time .
