This place should be a national treasure! It's tucked away in a basement and the atmosphere is amazing. Warm lighting, great decor, and exposed brick. Gives a new yourk tavern vibe. The staff was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the public smash with fries. Right away you can tell it is fresh beef not frozen, the fries look and taste hand cut. It was simply amazing. Favorite burger in town for me. Will definitely be back. 10/10

Great location. We had the barbecue blue pizza and it was amazing. The burger was also really good. The charcuterie board was very underwhelming. Just not a lot to it. So I would not get that again. Our server was amazing. We will definitely be back.

Great beer menu, really good appetizers. Most of the time able to walk in immediately seated. Always friendly. Charcuterie board was excellent! Try it! You won't regret it! Fish and chips A+, Shrimp Tacos A+!

This place was lovely.Food: my attitude is that too many restaurants rely on meat but can’t do anything with veggies. It’s easy to throw a steak on a grill. But to make vegetables sing takes a chef. Clearly, there is someone with mad culinary skills in Public’s kitchen. We had the special salad, spicy cauliflower and mushroom bao buns. All were executed quite well. My partner also got the bison sliders - he reported they were good too - and my daughter enjoyed her pizza.Of note: they had a Jester King saison on tap that my spouse and I both ordered. Jester King beers are notoriously good and we were surprised to see them on tap so far north (they are brewed with wild yeast in Austin, TX so the transportation radii is limited). The brew was by far the best beer either of us has had in more than a year or two.Atmosphere: They have a magical dining area in a courtyard that we recommend sitting in. There are beautiful lights and sweet touches out there. The interior decor was fun too. This place has great food that adults will enjoy and is kid friendly to boot. Can’t beat that combination for families.Service: our server, Dallas, was attentive and responsive to the pace of our meal. He asked if we wanted any of our dishes brought out first; a welcome query that demonstrates good service. Sometimes all of an order including appetizers comes out at once and then you’re left with cold food. All in all, I definitely recommend coming for the food, service and atmosphere. They delivered the culinary holy trinity.Kid-friendliness: They had coloring sheets and crayons, high chairs, and a kids menu.

This place actually knocked our socks off! We had cheese curds that couldn't be beat. My friend had sliders, and I indulged in Mardi Gras themed king cake! :-) the drinks were amazing, and my friend said that the 1975 was "life-changing" - Would strongly recommend
