Pleasant inviting atmosphere with ? & derby ?decor. There a guest ticket @ each place seating. You write your order down and they come around and pick it up. They brought a small plate of club crackers & divine beer cheese to your table. I had the lunch special of chicken salad on sour dough ?, cup of tomato soup & chips. Very good for a filling lunch. Several options to chose from. There is a clothing & Antiques store attached in the front of the building. The restaurant is in the back . Look? for the double red ? ?.Total for 2 for lunch was $ 20.

Would never consider going there again. Lovely decor, good menu, all fine until...I asked if they had wifi. No. Owner was unhappy with that. When I pleasantly questioned the Monte Cristo sandwich which was very small and unlike any other I have seen, barely filling a quarter of the plate (other side filled with potato chips), he became angry and insisted I leave. I remained pleasant throughout the experience. Perhaps he was having a bad day but any restauranteur/manager who cares about customers never behaves in such a belligerent manner. Before the event, I was thrilled to be there, thought of friends I would bring but after his verbal explosion, I would never consider it. Surely, Ashland has far better places.

So yummy! Very clean and friendly staff as well. Coming from LA California, this is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had!

Delicious! I will have to admit, I do eat here often. My favorite is a chicken salad sandwich on white homemade beer bread. I always order the Waldorf salad, which is always fresh and very tasty. If you like desserts, try the John Y. Brown pie. It resembles derby pie only instead of chocolate chips, I believe they use butterscotch (not sure), but I promise you will love it! Service is also very good. I love freshly brewed iced tea and our waitress kept our glasses full.
