I know so many who enjoy this restaurant and I've tried on several occasions to be consistently disappointed. I went with a group of diners on Monday evening and the ambiance of the room were seated in was quite nice. It was some time before the server, who never gave us his name, came to welcome and take drink orders. He at first seemed to be a good server. After the drinks were ordered and brought, it was at least 15-20 minutes before he came back to take orders. He tended to stay away and was not attentive to those who needed refills. After the food was delivered it was close to another 15 minutes before he came to check on us. I ordered the 5oz filet with scalloped potatoes and asparagus. I did swap mushrooms for the cut up asparagus. When my dinner arrived, the steak was burnt and crunchy and the potatoes were inedible. There was so much seasoning in the potatoes that it was overwhelming. When the server finally came to check on us I asked why on the menu it did not mention scalloped potatoes with herbs. He agreed that there was a large amount of herbs and quickly brought out mashed as a replacement. The steak was nothing to brag so it was a lot of money for nothing. The only high point of the evening was the company I was with. I doubt that I will be back.

I visited here for dinner on a Friday night with my significant other and her mother. We did not have a reservation, but despite being very busy they were able to seat us in the back room. There was live music in the front room and a lively bar, although the backroom seemed like an older, slightly outdated, acquired space that was at least quiet and spacious. The restaurant were extremely busy, so I didn't fault the service for being slower and a bit more inconsistent - they were still friendly enough and calm. I ordered a riesling to go with an order of oysters and an entree of Beer Battered Cod with a side of Mac & Cheese.Unfortunately I never got my oysters, which was disappointing. The food we received, while not breathtaking, was still solid. My entree was satisfying, and a nice cap to a long week. We had a snafu with one of the other entrees where they food came out cold, but it was able to be reheated and tasted fine after.Overall a solid impromptu experience. I would be curious to come here during a less busy time period and try their burgers, although I don't feel compelled to come here for dinner on a weekend again.Kid-friendliness: There were families in the background during the dinner rush. have options that are kid friendly.

I feel like this place doesn't know what it wants to be, somewhere between sports bar/fancy restaurant that serves overpriced, bland, greasy 12" pizzas at uncomfortably small tables. Oh and the chicken that comes optional in the poke bowl? Tasted/smelled/felt like it'd been made yesterday morning, also bland and awful, everything was either lukewarm/cold in the bowl. We spent almost $80 on two pizzas, a poke bowl, and calamari as an appetizer, which was not bad. Water is all we drank, so for that kinda money we felt horribly let down for that kind of bill.Save your money, go just about anywhere else

The experience was very average. The ambiance seemed to be geared toward an older generation (I'm no spring chicken, but I got the impression that patrons in their 60's and up were the target demographic). The $44 steak was ok but lackluster. Not a bad place at all, but at the price point, I expected more.

Decided to post this time because I have not in the last two visits, but today third one, I am going to post I go there just for the dry rub 12 count wings that's it They have gotten it wrong the last two visits and I thought you know what, not a big big deal .... I get it there are many factors involved. But today I ordered my first batch, they came out wrong, so I sent it back .... No worries! I ordered a second batch, because we all shared them at the table and I wanted some more. They came back wrong again. So we sent them back and they fixed it, but I would think that you know ... "we screwed up twice, Sorry for your extra wait inconvenience both times While others are eating their food you're waiting, That they would knock off a couple of bucks off your bill, off your tab, just because you know "we're sorry it happened Twice" that's all but nothing ! it just would've been nice to say hey we're really sorry you know we're having a little bit of issues. We'll take some money off. I mean that's what I would do and I'm surprised that they didn't! Charged me full price for both counts of orders again just a little disappointing. No I will not be back. It ain't worth it expensive I'm just frustrated I'm done that was not a good call by the server She should've done a better job in satisfying the experience! Still tipped her 20%

Everything was delicious! Pleasant surprise!! We originally seated in your large party area, but it wasn't as cozy as in a booth. We asked to move, and the hostess was very accommodating.

I love the GV Tavern! It is a beautiful setting and has a wonderful menu for food and drinks. The service is always friendly and attentive. I've been going for years and highly recommend it as a spot for dinner/happy hour.

Great restaurant close to the CVG airport! Fresh food, nice service and reasonable prices. If you want to taste local bourbon or beers and listen to live music, this is the best choice. Truly recommend to everyone!

I ordered the double bone-in pork chop. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was spot on. The dips were also really good. I would go back.

I would not recommend the breakfast bowl. Ordered the eggs over easy and sent it back once. Both times the eggs came out hard cooked. Not a good combination of items and very dry. The best thing on the bowl was a piece of avocado. Overall the food in the bowl was not hot. Second egg that was prepared was hot but over cooked. The three people in the group that ordered sandwiches were very satisfied with their food.

I have been here many times and service has always been decent, the food has always been very good, and generally the musical entertainment on weekends is enjoyable. This past visit on Saturday Dec. 30th was not their best effort. Everyone was generally satisfied with what they got BUT - the chicken wings varied in size including 3 or 4 that were so small i could not believe they served them. My biggest issue that night was their Red Snapper dinner special. I wanted it blackened to give a little spice but was advised that it was prepared in a Cajun sauce and i would not need the blackening... wrong, it was a bit bland, not bad but bland. The fish itself, while ok, did not appear in any way to be snapper. It was a thick piece of fish, a bit "meatier" than snapper, and my best guess was they used a piece of cod. I did not finish my meal. It certainly was not snapper. As mentioned, I will be back and I will get the pork chop which is always good. Snapper is not recommended!
