Sign in the window 7/19/2023 says taking a break. Closed? For how long? Sure wish we'd known before heading over for brunch pre tour.

Best food in town. Nothing bland or boring about it. As far as the ambience goes, it's a dive, but the best dive ever.

Sure wish this place would reopen. Best breakfasts in the Bluegrass state and amazing lunches. Happy I called before driving down from Indy. Spoke with Rick. The man. The myth. The legend himself.

We are so sad that this place is closed…the sign on the door said ‘closed for a break’ and there was a for sale sign on the side of the building. They have such delicious food so I’m hoping they open back up again in the future!!

No thank you. The food was overpriced, the portions were small and who we believe to be the owner was very intoxicated and stayed at our table griping and cursing the entire time we were trying to eat.

Closing soon. This once yummy diner has seen better days. Food was just okay. Place smells of cigarette smoke. Employees standing around cursing and having personal conversation inside the tiny diner. Owner got in a yelling, cursing fight with some derelict that wandered in (apparently an ex employee). We ordered breakfast and beignets. Having had them in New Orleans several times, these were not up to par. Nice outdoor patio. Hopefully this location will be purchased for a nice, new restaurant.

GO NOW!! Amazing food in this little shack. Eclectic inside, no bathroom (unless you want to brave the basement) but WOW these folks are super friendly and can cook their a**es off! I had a shrimp etouffee that knocked my socks off! I now schedule all of my visits to Frankfort around RWLD's hours.

A true diner with a Cajun menu. Our adventure at @RicksWhiteLightDiner in Frankfort, KY was an unexpected culinary surprise. We had a Yummy Cajun Diner. We shared a Shrimp Po'Boy and Seafood Gumbo with a side of Fried Asparagus. Yum! The Seamus Gumbo and the asparagus were my favorite. We also ordered beignets, and if you do, make sure to eat them when they are hot. This was one of the stops of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive-inns and Dives. The place had three tables and an old school counter. In the words of Guy it was legit and off the hook! When in Frankfort, make sure to add this gem to your day.

We got three meals, serious issues with all three. Burger was beyond well done and totally dried out. Crawfish pie seemed to have been re-heated about 4 times, it was also dry and the only thing you could taste was the spice. The shrimp po boy wasn’t too bad, but the remoulade was indistinguishable from mayo, and the hush puppies were overdone and inedible. If Triple D were to return, they’d be very disappointed.

If you are looking for a true throw back diner experience, head to Rick's! It's small inside so be prepared but the food is down home delicious and the ambience is pure diner! Pricing is a little on the high side for a diner but it was fast and yummy! If the weather is good, there is also a nice outside area beside the building. And don't miss the cool murals! Enjoy!

Service is good food is good. I do have to admit being from the Gulf Coast area the food isn't the same. It is the best cajun in Frankfort.

Stopped here for lunch. Got the lunch special - cheeseburger with garlic potatoes. Other person got a cheeseburger and the deep fried asparagus served with horseradish sauce. The cheeseburgers were awesome!!! First time ever having deep fried asparagus-absolutely delicious!!! The semi-fried garlic potatoes were ok…needed to be more done & crispy. Service was outstanding!!!

What a joke. I've never wasted money like this. $18 a plate and just a tiny bit of food, LITERALLY $18 for what you see in that picture. Don't waste your time. Oil soaked overcooked hush puppies. Flavorless potatoes. Grits were congealed slop. Don't even get me started on the bread. A po boy should be on fresh French bread, I'm almost certain they were using ciabata bread. That's twice I've been totally disappointed by a DDD restaurant. Won't happen again. As a New Orleans native, this place was terrible.
