Peggy's has the makings of a hidden gem, with the potential to become a beloved hole-in-the-wall spot in Hopkinsville. The menu offers a decent variety of options, and the atmosphere evokes a nostalgic charm reminiscent of a classic 50's diner. However, my recent experiences have revealed concerning trends in service quality and efficiency.Having visited Peggy's twice—once during its inaugural month and again several months later—I've noticed a decline in both the speed and quality of service. During my last visit, our order took an excruciatingly long time to arrive, with the first item alone taking 45 minutes, followed by an additional 15-minute wait between each subsequent item. The staff appeared to lack any sense of urgency, which was disappointing given the potential of the establishment. As someone who has worked various roles in the service industry, including cashier, waiter, busboy, and head cook, I offer this critique from a place of genuine care and concern rather than malice. I believe Peggy's has the opportunity to shine brightly as a destination spot for the community, but improvements in service speed and staff efficiency are necessary to fulfill this potential. With the right adjustments, Peggy's could indeed become a cherished jewel in the city's culinary landscape.

Called to order food 20 minutes before closing and was told grill was shut down already, kind of frustrating. Haven't ate here yet don't know if I will now. Super disappointed. She barely gave a chance to talk and didnt even try to see what I wanted to order. I just wanted frech toast dont think it would of been hard to make. I tried to tell her. I just wanted French toast. But before I could speak she was like no the grill is shut down and we're closed on sunday.

Honestly, a really cool place with good tunes on the jukebox and a burger menu to rival Davos in town. The food was delicious and juicy, I'll be back to try out all of their burgers and milkshakes. My only complaint would be the ventilation from the kitchen. It can get pretty smoky in the dining area and the fried onion vapors definitely carried.
