We used to go to the Grey Goose a lot so we are enjoying the re-opening as The Goose and the updates that they've made. The menu has gotten a bit more expensive entree wise but everything that we've tried has been tastier and presented more aesthetically than the Grey Goose. Fireplaces are still in action but it seems that they've weatherproofed the side room more and it's not so drafty any more. The roasted beef was delicious as well as the accompanying potatoes and my husband has given good reviews on the two burgers that he's tried off of the menu. Our server (I think Jim) was fantastic and just attentive enough in that perfect present but not overly hovering way. Drinks came out fast as well as the food. Don't forget that they have happy hour every day of the week INCLUDING FRIDAY woohoo!

I don't want to share this. If I do, my favorite spot in town might get much busier and the parking harder to find, but they deserve it and this review is long overdue. As a Lexington native, I've been to many, if not most, places in town, and this is one of the very finest. Do not expect a white table cloth, people in expensive attire, fine silver or far overpriced dishes that are too small. This place has quickly and easily become my favorite establishment in town. Many of the kitchen staff, waiters and managers come from the old Portofino's and it shows in all the best ways. The food does not disappoint, the menu has the perfect amount of variety, the prices aren't exorbitant, they've got a fabulously stocked bar (please save the Wellers for me), the location and atmosphere is one you'll want to come back to many times, and the bar and wait staff is frankly fantastic. This place checks all the boxes for me. Nuf said. THINGS TO TRY: Meatloaf is the best in town, grilled chicken is something you'll be talking about for a week or more, the Fungi burger (and their other burgers) wont disappoint, the chicken salad sandwich is phenomenal, and the other entrees and pizzas are amazing. Make sure to ask about their daily specials as they are usually astounding. One of my secret favorites is to get their special soup alongside the full grilled Caesar salad with added anchovies (don't judge me, I think those tiny fish are great). My friends laugh when they find out I've been there 3 or 4 times in a week, but they've got nothing but smiles on when they leave and they often request to come back when we have them over. Clearly The Goose is doing it right and something tells me they'll be here for many years to come. Other places in town need to take note. This is a new gift to Lexington. Just leave Clyde and I the parking spot by the door, please and we will see you there for a bourbon for me and a gin and tonic for him.

Our go to spot in Lexington. Amazing dishes and the prices are hard to beat. We love this place!!

The Cuban Hero and apple Cole slaw were delicious, our waitress worked hard to get us a bigger table. Service was a little slow, and hard to get parking nearby.

The Goose Lexington is the perfect Lexington vibe. With a wonderful patio, inviting staff, and good food and drinks it's tough to beat. Having been a few times now, we can really speak to the whole menu, but to highlight a few stay tuned. Toasted ravioli, perfect. A nice, WARM, marinara to pair and plenty to serve up to 4 people. Nothing I hate worse then cold sauce with hot food! Pizzas were great with a beautiful crispy crust and wonderful toppings. And that spicy margarita, yum! A must visit if you live or are visiting town, not to mention conveniently located to Rupp.

Out participating in the AVOL Dining Out - fundraiser for AIDS. This was at The Goose. Enjoying my first cosmopolitan in 20 years (with a beer chaser) ??. Dinner (Grill Roasted, thick sliced Bistro steak with sides) , unfortunately for me, was way over cooked and dried out. ??. My friend’s pasta dinner was good.?? The outdoor ambience was very good and the company excellent.??

My husband and I have been three times now since they have re-opened under new ownership. We were so excited because of their amazing patio and the fact that they are right around the corner from our house. Unfortunately, we really do not like their pizza crust, sauce, or cheese that they use.. Additionally we have had pizza two different times and they loaded it with cheese and little of anything else. We couldn't even finish two slices each and felt awful afterwards. We thought we could go back just for sandwiches but his was mediocre and I had a soup and salad. The Caesar salad was literally two pieces of chard romaine. Flavor was good but I was still hungry when I left after the tiny cup of soup and non existent salad. We unfortunately will not be back. Wish the previous owners still had it.

Best pizza. Try the fig balsamic pizza. Outdoor seating was great.

Cheese fries were really good, the balsamic vinegar on the tomatoes was a welcome twist.

We ordered a pizza and maybe should have ordered something different. Our guests enjoyed their food.

Really enjoyed sitting at one of their patio tables under covered umbrellas, drinking an excellent bottle of Raymond cab wine, tasty salads and delicious gluten free(cauliflower crust) vegetarian pizza. The server, Tom, was excellent and the ambiance very inviting. This restaurant, although newly opened, has it together.

The Goose is a great local spot for a casual meal and southern hospitality. 2 Bars- one in full AC, and one "indoor/outdoor" bar with fun barrel high tops and a view of the patio. Smoking & dog friendly patio = total Kentucky vibes. They also have a bourbon list that boasted nearly 100 varieties! I enjoyed sitting at a high top and drinking my classic vodka soda; my waiter/bartender, Tom, was attentive, warm and clearly busy though that didn't effect my service one bit. A veteran of a bartender, I presume. My vodka sodas were not for the faint of heart- I had to ask for more soda, and....well, that's saying something! A huge group seemed to be enjoying a casual celebration outside. I appreciated that the staff was professional yet friendly in a truly southern vibe. I ordered the "bruschetta bar" and choose a few different varieties for my bread and crackers. I selected Spinach/Artichoke, Italian Cheese, & Fig Preserves. The spinach and cheese paired so well together- I started mixing them! The fig Preserves were sweet and fresh, but I needed something to accompany that other than just bread. Apple slices would have hit the spot! This newly revamped restaurant seems to be a favorite among the locals. I'll definitely be returning to "The Goose" with my pups for a quality meal without the frills.

I'm torn. The food was honestly great, but we had quite a few issues with our food/experience. First, blue cheese was forgotten on a salad we ordered, and chicken added (at an extra cost) to our pizza was forgotten. Secondly, the business has changed owners apparently and no longer takes gift cards that have the restaurants name on the front. Our entire meal was supposed to be covered by this gift card - so we spent more than we should - and then got stuck with the entire bill when we were told they didn't take gift cards from previous owners. How were we supposed to know? Most likely won't be back. Just not worth it. Server was great and had no issues with them - just issues with owners who won't even try to make amends when we clearly didn't know they switched owners beforehand. Maybe change the name other than taking out one word - this left a bad taste in our mouth.

Great afternoon experience. They were short staff, but everything was fine. We tried an array of items on the menu. Apps, salads, pizza and entrees. All we're very good. Nicely seasoned veggies and meats. Cooked right. Great selection of drinks. Definitely recommend.
