Parking: Off a one way street that leads into a gravel paid parking lot with lots of potholes. Also was excessively full and hard to turn a full size truck around in.

Food was absolutely excellent. We got two piece dark meat fried chicken, greens, and fries. All 10/10. Fried chicken was juicy and skin was golden and perfect- couldn't be better. We got the chocolate chess pie and it was excellent too. It took a little bit longer than we expected, maybe 20-25 mins for takeout, but worth it. Would recommend it and come again!

The “World Famous Fried Chicken” fell short of expectations. The chicken lacked flavor and the bread/buns were dry and stale. The only standout was excellent customer service. Barely deserves a three-star rating.

Gritty OG fried chicken. The interior is bare bones and simple with some UK banners. You're here for the chicken. It took about 35 minutes to get food after ordering, server quoted 15-20 minutes, so they must have been behind. The chicken is very good and perfectly cooked. It's moist and not dried out. A little heat to add flavor. Classic side options. Would guess the place has been around for 50 years and still probably still be for at least another 50. It's simple and does chicken well. Great lunch at a fair price.Vegetarian options: No vegetarian options other than sidesParking: Large surface lot shared with other businesses. May have to park away from the building, but there is enough parking on-site.
Gus's chicken is a must. Cooked to perfection, the old school music on the juke box is amazing. Songs that I haven't heard in years were being played. I had the all dark meat with Mac & Cheese and coleslaw. All was on point. To top it off with a shotgun wedding brew, a side of warm pie. It's a must to visit gus.

I dont give 5 stars often, but let me tell you about this place. You walk in and that's exactly what you expect, a dinky little dive with picnic style tables, different chairs at every table, a concrete floor & a wooden ceiling. The chicken is cooked to order and came to our table piping hot ? the chicken definitely had a little spiciness to it, but by no means was it hot. Just a nice little kick ? there were a few options for sides & each one we had was flavorful & a great accompaniment to the chicken!Great music playing. I got to jam out while eating a fabulous little meal - what a plus in my book !I will say parking is kind of tricky. I did the paytopark via text & still got a citation SO just double check your spot before heading in for greatness.
