Beautiful place with stained glass windows. Fast, friendly service. Good food, the best bread sticks ever. Reasonable prices.

We sat at the bar, but no bartender at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. After 15 minutes of no service we ordered food to go from the carryout window. We went next door and had a cocktail while our food was cooking. Then when we got home they gave us cheese sticks instead of cheesy breadsticks. The pizza was very good but the cheese sticks were average at best.

Gone there pretty much since it opened in 1973. Best bread sticks and different style of pizza. Hope it can stay open and wish Joe a great retirement. He deserves it.

Might close this summer ... Last chances to go there and enjoy the unique pizzas. Parking was a bit difficult, we paid for a spot in the street.

Expect a bit of a wait, even on a weekday. The inside is absolutely gorgeous. Obviously, we HAD to order the breadstick, right? Whatever you imagine it to be... it's even more delicious. The bread is even softer and more warm, the butter is perfection, and when you drop a little of the parm in there? Amazing. We did get a pizza and a pasta, but I indulged so hard in the bread that I didn't even eat the pasta until we got home. The side salad was yummy, and the ranch dressing was all the good parts of a house ranch. The pasta traveled well. So well, we were able to put it in a lunchbox with ice and take it home to California with us.The staff were all so polite and apologetic for the wait. Other staff stopped by our table and conversed with us (we were close to the beverage refill area) and were super kind.We will definitely be returning on our next trip.

Not sure what has happened to this place We are from Cincinnati and we always make a stop to Joe Bolognas - it's a must do when we are in Lexington. We were here this past Sunday 4/7/24 The hostess seemed extremely bothered to have to get up off her phone to seat us . The waitress was good / service was quick . However the food This place has always been a staple and we are so sad that it has slipped so much in this past year . Had 1 slice of pizza and my daughter took 1 bite of manicotti. Terrible !! What happens to the sauce ?? It was brown ??? Best of luck to realing it back in We definitely miss the old place/ food

Great people and great food. Stopped in on a vacation. They were too busy on the weekend to fit in our party of 7 but glad we tried again.

Joe Bologna's is a Lexington staple. If you are in the area you must stop in and get a bread stick. The food and service is always top notch.

Interesting mix of experiences here. Food was great. Staff were personable, friendly, attentive, and VERY busy. Unfortunately, our salads were never brought out and neither were breadsticks for some in our party. Would try again if they’re still open the next time we’re in town.

When did this place because a friend referred me to it before he closed down after 50 years. So sorry I didn't find it sooner but will definitely go back before August when he shuts down permanently

After around 40 minutes of waiting for a table, me and a group of my friends were seated on the upper area where mostly large parties sit. We got our drinks & ordered appetizers soon after that, only to wait another hour for our waitress to bring the appetizers out. By the time we got the breadsticks we ordered, the melted butter was already congealing and the breadsticks were already cool. This was presumably due to the fact that our breadsticks were on the serving tray for about 10 minutes, most of that time unattended as our waitress went to get several things for other tables before giving them to us. After another 40-45 minutes of waiting, our food was brought out, but not before 3 parties before us, that mind you were all larger than our party AND had gotten there after us, had gotten their checks and boxes and were leaving. The waitress, if my memory serves me correctly, did not once ask us if we needed anything, did not once come up to our table unless food was already out, and only gave us one refill of our drinks throughout this whole process. I am thoroughly disappointed and will not be giving my business here again.
