. Martine's Pastries is an amazing gem of a French cafe and bakery.. I love their delicious chicken salad sandwich, served on a tender buttery croissant. They also have a great 'Croque Monsieur' sandwich- a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with a delicious sauce.. They have amazing baked goods and coffee & tea drinks.. Martine also makes beautifully decorated custom cakes for special occasions.. This is a small cafe. There is limited seating downstairs, but there is also a larger seating area upstairs.. Everything is delicious !Highly recommend.Parking: There's a small off-street parking lot, to the side of the building (only about 8 cars)- to access this lot, turn into the alley behind the building.

such a cute place !!! i adore Martines, the staff is absolutely lovely and always the sweetest. i appreciate how they are always willing to answer questions and give recommendations :) limited seating downstairs, but there is a larger upstairs with more open space seating. the food here for breakfast and lunch never disappoints, and i haven't tried anything on the menu i didn't like. their bakery section is just as good!

I'm in here about once a month and occasionally I get something. But! This last time was something special. As someone who doesn't like cherries to much. The Black Forest cake was *chef's kiss* C'EST MAGNIFIQUE! The only downside now, is that regular candy and sweets from convenience stores, is gross now.

I ordered a BLT this morning which is supposed to come with aioli. When the sandwich was served it was dry- no big deal. (Keep in mind there were about 12 customers in the whole place and 7 employees) I waited patiently while the clerk served others and when the clerk was available I informed him of the dry sandwich and asked politely for some sauce on the side. He informed the sandwich maker of my request and then walks back to me to inform that they are out of aioli- I say a cup of mayo is fine. At this point to sandwich person barks rudely and loudly that Ill have to wait for it. I implore the clerk that my sandwich is already cold and why do I have to wait for a simple cup of mayo? He says that the sandwich person can not stop to get me mayo and that it will be a bit. I ask why my sandwich which was made wrong is not a priority over sandwiches in line- when all I needed to be happy was a simple cup of mayo! Why could no one else provide mayo? The clerk seemed to fear the rude and clearly incompetent sandwich person which is sad in and of itself. I brought my soggy cold BLT back to the counter and left. To be fair - the clerk did offer me a refund but I was too flustered by the horrible service that I declined.Martines has great pastries and cakes, but it will be a cold day in h$ll before I ever eat in that cafe again. Fire the sandwich lord and free your staff and customers from his bad attitude and subsequently his bad sandwiches.

l dined at Martine's for the 1st time yesterday, January 8, 2024. My reason for going is there was the French onion soup on the daily menu. l received a small (bowl) portion of unsalted, flavorless water broth with a few thin and pitiful strings of onion sitting on the bottom. The topping was 2 small (1.5 by 2 inches?) pieces of thin, hard cocktail bread things with a 1 inch square of very thin cheese that I could not identify as Swiss but may well have been. Who knows? l have lived in Lexington for 40 years (more,actually) and really try to buy local as much as possible. This particular meal is a giant fail. As for asking for a tip when I am at a place such as this, where l pay before ever seeing or sampling, where l have to order at the counter and then wait to be summoned so l can retrieve my own food, silverware, napkins etc, l'm afraid not to because l'm worried somebody will spit in my food.

Martine’s did my custom wedding cake and it was delicious!!!! We had French toast and chocolate and the guests couldn’t stop raving about it! The cake is so light but so flavorful, I couldn’t recommend it enough!

What can I say……that was absolutely the BEST wedding cake that I have ever had!!The bride and groom received soooo many compliments on the cake! Next to the bride and groom, it was the hit of the wedding!!! We will DEFINITELY be back for more cake! You guys rock!!!!
