Great spot to try a new beer or three! Ambiance is always good and staff is always helpful and friendly. They have a great selection of to go brews as well. Check out their Sunday Beer School for learnin' and drinkin'!

Outstanding bar with an vast selection of rare and seasonable beers, especially Trappist ales. Friendly and relaxing vibe with knowledgeable bar tender who can share the history and profiles of his beers.

This place started my craft beer journey many years ago! Always the best and diverse beer selection in the Lexington area. As always, talk to Kevin as his passion for beer is extraordinary! Cheers!

Walked in to buy beer to go but was escorted out because they don’t allow children… I was pushing my 6 month old in a stroller. A joke.

Very cool place for anyone who likes beer. Good beers on tap.

Pros: A nice selection of beers ranging from OG imports to the most notable of American craft available for bottle/can purchase. Decent draft selection. Decent, intimate lounge area.Cons: There is a pretentious vibe here with the correlating higher than average prices for beers. The beertender perpetuated this vibe with non-existent hospitality(Sunday night).

Great place to have an imported or craft beer. They do not have Domestic beers such as Bud Light, Budweiser, Miller Lite, etc.

We were visiting from out of town. Kinda got the feeling that if you weren't a regular, the bartender wasn't interested in helping. It is a cool little place with a decent selection of craft beers.

About as good of a beer spot as you're going to get in Lexington, without the hype of some of the places across town. There is always a great collection of eight or more beers in draft here, and a few hundred bottles ranging from the normal to the aged and exotic. Kevin is beyond knowledgeable, and will guide you to the right pour for you every time.

This place is my favorite spot to wind down after any kind of day! I can come here for celebratory causes with a group of friends, after a long day at work, or honestly when I'm feeling down and need a good mood spike! This is the place if you're a beer drinker! If you happen to come in while Kevin is working, just know he is hands down the best bartender in all of Lexington in regards to beer. He's a certified Cicerone which proves he's an expert in all areas of anything that has to do with beer. He's never led me in a wrong direction when it comes to what I enjoy. Even if he's not there, the staff is a pleasure to work with and will always take care of you. The bar snacks are always a nice treat if you're feeling the need to snack, or you can scan the QR code and order full meals from Bear & The Butcher next door. They deliver to you without having to leave your spot at The Beer Trappe! I love having the deviled eggs or duck wontons and the chicken sandwich! Hands down, do NOT pass this place up! You'll be missing out!
