Went in for the first time and ordered chicharron, lomo, pastor and tripa tacos as well as 2 carnitas tacos (as they were recommended by the woman taking our order). The other tacos were good, but the star of the show were the carnita tacos. Normally I don't get carnita tacos as they are dry, but these were perfect! My partner and I each had 3 tacos which were very filling and reasonably priced. Definitely coming back soon.

The food was absolutely delicious. For a first-time visit, I will definitely return. The only complaint was that the seating was compact, but outside of that, it was a great restaurant.

Guys I found it! I finally found a great Mexican spot in Louisville after searching for more than a year and after having tried - during my search - some of worst, most bland and overrated Mexican food I have ever tried in my life here in Louisville, KY.This is true West-coast style Mexican food. Everybody is Mexican, the cook, the owner and the clientele. It would rank mid-high-ish in the Bay Area which is top notch in Louisville. Not expensive, hole in the wall, great for filling up and entering food paradise.

No prices on the menu so they can charge whatever. I got 4 pollo tacos and they were $4 each (without taxes). They were good but not worth $4 per taco. I do not recommend this place anymore. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants that server tacos for $2.5 each and those tacos are just as good.

The food is ok, the problem with the place is that they are open very limited hours therefore they over charge for their drinks and food, over 4 dollar for a single taco and 4 dollars for a bottle drink. There is absolutely nothing special of this place and take advantage of the fact that their is no other Hispanic restaurant near by. It's honestly a shame because the place did have potential .

Edited Review (8/11/2023):I have bumped La Rosita Sol from 2 stars to 4 stars. My original review commented on how based on food alone, this place is an easy 5 stars - this remains true; however the lack of service, rude interactions with an employee, and random hours of operation lead me to give it only 2... Well, I'm happy to bump it to a 4 after my last 3 visits. It appears management is doing something different. The store appears to have consistent hours that match those posted and all of my last 3 visits have been with the owner or manager and they have been very pleasant to me! If they keep it up, I'll bump them to a 5.Original Review:Personally, I think La Rosita has the best tacos in Louisville...which is why it saddens me to give them 2 stars. If it was on food alone it's a 5, but the problem is actually getting the food. The past 3 times I have visited them, they have been closed during hours they have been listed open. This includes weekdays and weekends. I've gone up to 3 hours before closing only to pull up and the parking lot is either empty or has another 1 or 2 frustrated to-be customers outside. Twice, the owner or store manager has been inside and rudely waved us out from inside the store without a word. In addition the past 2 tines I have actually managed to find them open the same woman has been rude and completley inattentive to my girlfriend or friends and I. It's not so much in your face rude, but more just a "you're presence is bothering me." Well that's what happens when you run a restaurant....you have customers. Nothing but good thing to say about the employees behind the food line though. Just wish this place had better management or changed their hours to reflect reality. I guess it's time I try the other 15 places opening shop in the city.

Although the food was great be warned, the prices in-store do not reflect the prices online. In fact, the prices in-store are double the prices online. My friend who ordered the tacos and horchata said they were delicious but among the most expensive tacos he’s eaten In Louisville.I had a Torta with a mix of their meats and horchata and the server initially offered the online price then followed up with an updated price double what the online price currently shows online at this time (12:39pm) what’s more I wasn’t offered an itemized receipt so imagine how I felt. I was expecting one price then got charged double and there was no itemized proof of what I’d purchased and for how much. When I brought this to her attention and suggested she pass that along so other people aren’t under the impression that the food costs the same as is offered online, she was very defensive.Further probing revealed that she too has mentioned this issue to upper management with no correction being made. So really this isn’t even her fault. At the end of the day it’s a shame because like the server said “the food’s good though right?”But that doesn’t justify practices like this. It’s deceitful and as a customer I don’t see myself supporting a business that engages in such behaviors and also puts servers in a difficult position enforcing said malpractice.

Decent tacos. Just decent. Tortillas sub par. Pastor and chicken are reasonably flavorful but certainly won’t blow your mind. Overall verging on bland as far as good tacos are concerned.

Good food. But as other reviewers mentioned be prepared to negotiate if you don’t speak Spanish, or pay $11 for a burrito. Zero transparency.
