I had the chicken biryani (special of the day). It was just perfect!!!! Right amount of spices (not too much or no too little). Service is great !!! Small dining area but kept quite well. My regular go to is hummus (starter), chicken Shawarma or Athenian broiled chicken. Their hummus (starter) and garlic sauce are heavenly !!!! Now, I can add Chicken Biryani (special) to that list.

I have been going to Maira since they were located on UofL’s campus. When they closed up I was heartbroken. I tried to fill the void they left by trying out other Mediterranean restaurants in Louisville. After returning to their new, current location, I can say with 100% certainty that they are THE BEST MEDITERRANEAN SPOT IN LOUISVILLE. The staff is amazing and the food is spectacular. Their chicken schwarma sandwich is to die for and their falafel and hummus is top notch. I never leave reviews but they absolutely deserve one. I LOVE MAIRA ❤️

Horrible ordered the gyro sandwich and a gyro plater. Sandwich on a dried out pita hardly any taziki sauce and way too salty . The gyro platter was just meat on rice and greek salad . Salad was good meat dry and no taziki sauce.

I don’t live close, so I’ve only been here twice and loved it both times. The chicken shawarma is delicious and the salad so fresh. The lentil soup is so flavorful. I’ve gotten it both times.The atmosphere is something I’d rather not rate because it’s generally a take out location. I’m here for good food , not the atmosphere. The staph has been so friendly both times, so I’m guessing that is normal. I highly recommend this place.
Such a great place! such delicious food! been so excited to rediscover where this restaurant had moved to since it left the University of Louisville area... If you haven't been you should go. It's cheap and reasonable and they have a great variety of Mediterranean food. There's nothing bad here.
The chicken shawarma sandwich was underwhelming. My sandwich was brought to me 5 minutes before my dining partner's. Forty minutes after the meal I had a major stomach ache. Make me sick, never see me again.
