It all depends on what you're expecting when you dine here. Had reservation for 4 on 5/7/24. Proof had been recommended to us by a local...so we went with very high expectations. We had dined at Repeal the night before, so we were expecting a similar WOW experience. Somehow our expectation wires got crossed because we were expecting fine dining and the restaurant looked and felt like a diner. The menu was limited and not very appealing (at least to us). While we waited for our drinks we each finally voiced what we were feeling--we just didn't get a good vibe. The staff was sloppily dressed and the best word I can think of for our server is "snarky". And he got even snarkier when we informed him that we weren't staying for dinner--which confirmed that we made the right decision. Probably nothing wrong with this restaurant...and I wouldn't advise anyone not to try it...we were just expecting a different, higher end experience. Ended up dining at the Seelbach Hotel and had a great experience.

Atmosphere was nice, has a cool gallery connected to it we grabbed a drink and checked out. Food was okay but service was SO BAD, SO SO BAD. Our waiter literally huffed when we sat down and goes, you eating too? Warm welcome.. absolutely hated that we sat in his section, made it a point to tell us he was tired and it was very busy. It was Derby week, Wednesday at 1pm, busy is expected and honestly it wasn’t very busy at all. A few people moved to the bar just to not deal with the server and the bartender was not much better. There are so many business’s that really appreciate the revenue that Derby week brings in, next time we will go somewhere else that appreciates the business.

Ordered a steak medium rare It comes out well done I ask for the manager and he says I will just take it back No apology nothing Then when he brings it back never apologized for me and my friend having to wait for another steak to be cooked. I guess causing us to wait during lunch while we are busy is irrelevant

We just came into town for the Derby, everything was closing and the Chef stayed open late for us. 5 Stars All Day!!Food, Service, Atmosphere all Amazing!So glad we stumbled upon this place!

I've been going here since they opened. Bison burger for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a creative libation from one of the skilled bartenders = heaven. Cheeky, great bathroom, and fab food. It's a must stop when I'm in town.

We had brunch here the morning after the Derby. We were greeted warmly when we arrived. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the food and service was top notch. The Benedict is the best I've ever had! Be sure to check out the adjoining galleries!

I had a wonderful dining experience at Proof on Main in downtown Louisville, KY. The decor and ambiance are noteworthy. I really enjoyed the charred asparagus toast. The bison burger was apparently quite good. Service was excellent. I highly recommend Propf on Main.

Great bar/lounge we ate the happy hour menu and ordered drinks off the regular menu. After we ate we walked around with our cocktails to view all the artwork which was an unexpected enjoyable walk through the galleries. A must see while in
I very much liked my food. My cocktail was stronger than expected but I grew to enjoy it. My friend however, said her food was okay and was probably the worse meal of all the ones we had while we were in town. She also did not like the decor of the restaurant, specifically the pictures which she said showed too much pda. She also did not like the ladies' room with all the cameras that has eyes. She thought it was creepy. I did not wander off to the areas she went so I can't comment. But from what I saw in the (middle) dining room, and I wandered to the other dining room and bar, I really liked the vibe of the room and all the decors. I would've found the ladies room delightful. It's our first time travelling together so we're both learning our tastes. I'm thinking of checking out the Chicago 21C Hotel.
Exceptional service. The team was very hospitable. I'm in town for the marathon. And they were very helpful with answering my questions. The manager even gave me two bagels for the next morning.

We have been dining at Proof on Main since the very beginning, and have always been happy! Yesterday's experience was excellent, as usual. Our server was a recent addition to the staff, and did an excellent job! We will return whenever we are in the neighborhood.

The service was great. Andrew did a great job taking care of us. The drinks were good. The Toki highball was the winner. The octopus as the starter was ok and the swordfish was very salty, unfortunately too salty to finish. The chicken was fantastic. I would not go to the restaurant again but it was a good place to visit one.

Proof is an interesting experience. Provocative art. Food is OK but overpriced. Newer restaurants have raised the bar but Proof seems to have focused on being different and being cool. Things have moved on-you cannot be different, new and bold forever
