This is the best fish house in town! Every time I indulge it feels like Family ! Must try the Cafe Beignets ? Catfish dinner won’t lead you wrong ( any fish dinner is great& come with the perfectly seasoned French fries) ,Gulf shrimp ( is the cleanest fattest shrimp ?)not to mention the fluffy golden hush puppies & potatoes cakes & fried Mushrooms ! It’s safe too say I am a foodie and I’ve just about had all the popular favorites! You will not be disappointed let my mother tell it “when you go to the fish house you will leave with a food baby” (aka full belly) ✨
I was very upset that they're selling swai as catfish!! It seems to be a thing here in Louisville!! I definitely know the taste and texture of catfish and I don't care what the owner says!! This should be considered FALSE ADVERTISING!!
First time here at this well established, Louisville gem. Our family dined here on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. There is a small parking lot and street parking. Cute outdoor eating area. Inside there's two different eating areas. You order at the counter, choose a seat and your food is brought out to you. They have homemade sweet tea and other drinks sold in bottles. We all had catfish dinners with different sides. Fish was so crispy, hot, and firm. Exactly how you want your fish to be. The hushpuppies were delicious with hint of sweetness that I love. We all agreed the fries were some of the best we had. This is a no fuss, quaint, delicious fish restaurant. We will definitely be back for good food and sweet staff.

I have always enjoyed everything here, especially the food. However the owner went above and beyond this morning and is deserving of the highest praise. While eating there this morning, my 8-year-old told the owner about an idea for a new beignet (with chocolate and berries). The owner then asked his kitchen staff to make it for my son, which they did! I was so impressed by this and cannot recommend The Fish House/Cafe Beignet enough. He even refused to accept any payment for this special order. There's a reason this place has been in business for so long. Thanks for the hospitality!

I love mom and Pop restaurants, especially since they are going extinct, this is a great place! Super good food, the order was taken quickly, the food came out even quicker! Free refills, and a great selection of condiments and some homemade. Will definitely be back many many times!Kid-friendliness: My kid loved the chicken! Looks great!

Ordered takeout. It is so good. Yes, it is fried, but there was NO oils in our trays. It was hot, fresh, and tasted light. Very good! The owner was friendly and had a good few minutes of conversation.

Amazing. Great service, I came in a few minutes after opening and the gentleman at the counter was super nice and answered all of my questions about their gluten free options which were many! Fried fish, fries, onion rings, and hush puppies! I got the catfish and the hush puppies and used their jalapeño tarter sauce. As more people came in it was clear there were a lot of regulars and for good reason, it was fresh and crispy and hot and super reasonably priced. I will absolutely be back next time I'm in town.
