The place is super cute. The service was slow. The food came out 40 mins after we ordered. The fries and my wings I ordered were cold. We ordered two draft beers, it took 20 mins to get to our table. Then while just sitting, the bartender was making drinks and people were getting up from their tables to grab their own drinks. The waitress was busy and I think it was only her for the whole place. The fan and the light fixtures above the tables were extremely dusty and had cobwebs…. They probably need a wipe down soon.

The server and bar tender were excellent. Very hospitable. It's a cute bar too. I will say the food was lack luster. I asked for well done wings and they were still a little soft. The nachos were so basic and almost seemed like canned nacho cheese. The fried pickles were salty, but good and the fried cod was really good. Overall, i would come here for drinks and go somewhere else for foodVegetarian options: Only had black bean burgers and fried pickles.

What I wouldn’t do is order a top shelf margarita I paid $29.68 for top shelves patron margarita the bartender was rude & nasty. The first bartender made a great drink. I was able to address it with both managers. I have previously ordered their wings I highly recommend those they are delicious. The DJ was off the chain he was jamming. The ambiance was good visited upstairs for the first time. Paying that amount for juice in a plastic cup not good

Waited 20 minutes to get served drinks at a table. Wasn't busy when we came in, 3 tables besides us. FINALLY got a drink & it had a gnat in it..stilled charged us $15.46 for it! Needless to say we didn't stick around 2 find out how the food was. Never drank a drink, paid basically $16 and waited a total of 40 min from sit down to cash out! I'd say being across from Derby gaming this could be a gold mine, but unless the owner gets on top of the issues...well ...MAKING EVERYONE FEEL WELCOME in your establishment..could double your current daily numbers! Good luck

I read the reviews and saw prior photos. Thought it was a good choice. To me, not impressed. The location and vibe of the place was good. Service was bad - took forever to be greet and get water, asked for a margarita with sugar rim and the server said the bartender will be in shortly. It was already past 12 pm. She ended up making it - 30 mins later. The chicken tacos had about a tablespoon of meat in it. The beef tacos was the same thing but greasy as all get out. More grease than meat.

Heard great things about the place. Ordered a club sandwich and was given a regular 2 bread sandwich with 2 slices of meat, lettuce, cheese, and tomato no bacon. For $10. So disappointed I can't even deal. The waitress was very personable.

Food was good. The seasoning in their Cajun fries was unique. It's a sweet and spicy blend and tasted good too. Server was friendly but not attentive, and also made some racist remarks about white people not being able to run businesses well enough. Not sure what that was about but whatever.
There were 4 of us. It was not busy. We placed our order then we waited over a hour for our food. The waitress kept blaming the cook everytime we asked. She said that she battles with him daily. Maybe it is a time for a new cook. When the sliders finally came they were luke warm and dry as a cork.We come to Louisville every 3 months.This was our first and last time at the Gruv.

Went in to grab a bite to eat, had a great experience. Bartender, I think Drew was his name, was very friendly and attentive. Our food was really good, we got chicken and beef sliders. They put some sugar and stuff on their fries and it was really good. Nice atmosphere, good music, and decent selection of bourbon/whiskey for what it was. If you go in there expecting super high end bourbon, you're gonna be disappointed but for what it was, they had good stuff. I would go back here to grab some food again.
