Our reservation was for 8:00pm which, unbeknownst to us, is the time they close the kitchen. We only learned that because we heard the hostess tell someone else that after we sat down.I mention this because they called me around 7:45pm to ask if we were still coming. I was a bit irritated at that when it happened, but I figured out later that they were waiting to close the kitchen until we arrived and ordered. So they did us a great service in that respect.Our waiter was knowledgeable about the food and drink menus and made several different recommendations. Once we ordered, the food came quickly and he checked in with us the right amount during the meal.The food itself was excellent. The pretzels with beer cheese were excellent. The taco salad was very good. My wife said the chicken and waffles was the best she’s ever had.The great service continued when our sun decided he wanted a burger to go (this was after the kitchen had closed). Our waiter went back and got them to make the order for us. We were very appreciative and made sure we showed that in the tip.The ambiance of the place is consistent with the overall theme. It feels kind of “dungeony” but doesn’t feel too dark or dank. It’s a cool and relaxing vibe.We had a great experience and would definitely go back.
It was the first night of a work trip, and it was the first time my team met in person. This place was the perfect place to get to know each other. The music played at the perfect volume for conversation. The food was great and the server was very friendly.

We were so excited to try this place even with some questionable reviews. We went on a Sunday at 8pm knowing they close at 9pm to give us time. When we got there we were told the kitchen was closed, they are "consumption based since COVID". Location was easy to park, place looked really cool inside. Just heads up the kitchen might be closed earlier than you think. Hope to try it one day.

We really enjoyed the Troll bar! There was an event going on nearby in the area, so unfortunately the local parking options in the area were like $20-$25, but I don’t think the bar has much control in that regard given it’s downtown. Anyways, we sat at the bar and they had plenty of TVs to watch the March Madness tournament on. Their selection of liquor options is HUGE, so whatever you can come up with, they can probably make it. The prices were pretty standard with $10-$15 cocktails. I tried one of the Berry Bourbon ones and really enjoyed it. The service from the bartenders was actually the best of any place we went throughout our stay in Louisville, so major props to the bartending staff. We had already eaten dinner but tried the frickles as a snack and they were delicious. This is somewhere you should try as I’d certainly return!

Been here a few time this was by far the absolute worse service. Our waitress (KENDRA) was the worst. She had 2 tables before we set down (total of 7 people to wait on) it took are exactly 15.23 minutes to even come over and say anything to us. Then it took her another 5-6 minutes to bring our drinks to us. After she finally grabbed our food order she went to wait on her other tables (not a big deal) by this time she had 4 total tables. She checked on 2 of hr other tables 1 of which looked like 4 business guys eating lunch the other was a 5 group of older individuals. She never once came back to ask if we needed refills or anything. She finally brought our food to us which at that time my food was cold but I knew if I sent it back it would probably take her another 10-15 minutes to get my food to me and it would probably still be cold. She paid attention to the tables she thought would give her good tips the fact is “I always give great tips when the service is worth giving a tip” I’ve been in her shoes and have waited tables so I know what it’s like but she was absolutely horrible!!!!

Really neat atmosphere!! Not saying all the servers are bad but ours was less than desirable. My wife and I both got burgers. They were mediocre at best. My beer was cold but her cocktail was almost strictly sweet and sour mix with a cherry. We came, we saw. There are way better choices on the block.
Food was pretty great, drinks were basic but expensive. Our waiter seemed annoyed or like something was wrong..Parking: Parking is hard to find, there is none directly near their entrance.

I love this place!!! I come often. Every time the bartenders are perfect with service. I HIGHLY recommend the chilli. As simple as it is to make you can easily mess it up but every single time it is so damn good!

This place was super fun, my family was visiting Louisville for spring break and we stopped here for dinner, this magical dinner had good food and nice workers, my parents said there drinks were amazing and they even had another one. Out waiter suggested his personal favorite foods and it was great if you go make sure you check out the burger of the month and soup of the day. The whole place was like a fairy tale. Even the menu was a little bit magical the waiter took my siblings to a hidden book case door. This plave has some amazing history to itself. If you ever visit Louisville Kentucky you must check this place out I highly recommend itKid-friendliness: This wonderful ace was like a kids dream.
