Excellent service by Nate. Best we have had in months at any restaurant. Food and drinks were great and timely. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I loved this place. It was full at lunchtime of local professionals and families. Their complimentary chips were the best. I had a huge beef burrito deluxe that was fantastic. The waitress was busy but checked on us often. The prices were great with lunch specials that change daily. Best Tex Mex I have had in years. Fast, delicious, efficient, clean, friendly, value. I will be back and really soon.

Family dinner with plenty of conversation. Our waiter was the best part of the visit. He brought all of our food in a timely manner, super friendly. Food was just so so for me, kinda spicy. The mexi mango drink I had was delicious.

Yes, it was a small neighborhood bar....Zorn Ave if I'm not mistaken...they had a huge candle made from other melted candles (again, if not mistaken, I was in my late teens)...my mom confessed she danced on a table there (her birthday, best friend started it lol)....I never had a drink there, but when they started serving food and became Tumbleweed....I couldn't get enough...the burritos were sooooo good that I still try to make mine like theirs. The Mexican rice was the best I've ever had. That was 35-40 years ago. The original owners are probably 'gone' by now. It hurts me to see the recent reviews. They were one of the first "Tex Mex" restaurants in Louisville and it was a special place for me to go. Just as Jockamo's Pizza on Bardstown Road, about the same time, was the best in town, I read not so good reviews of them. They had a great band every weekend....lol i remember falling down not just the front stairs but the back ones in the same night (after only 3 beers, I was a 'light weight'. Then Wicks who had the best Chef's Salad EVER.....and their pizza's were just as good as Jockamo's.... But I digress....this is about Tumbleweed, who came before all the rest. I never figured out the rice recipe but I still do my best to make my burritos as close to what they used to be many years ago. So.....so much for memories. At one time Tumbleweed was the best...times change....I'm old and not as good at things as I used to be, maybe that's how they've become...BUT....I still give them 10 outta 10 for what used to be :) Btw, my last visit was probably 2009, but they didn't have that option down below lol sigh

The food was mediocre. The service was very poor.We waited an hour and a half to get our drinks, and only received them after chasing down the manager. I do not think there was any alcohol in the margarita I ordered. It was not crowded. The excuse was the paper jammed on the printer.

I really didn’t want to rate... last day of school, two daughters and friends went to celebrate. Brittany, their waitress, without knowledge of any relation, mentioned that their friends were too dark to be related to my daughters. They expressed other things that happened, but mainly that we should not ever go there again. Here’s the thing... if you don’t want a job serving different ethnicities, don’t accept it. Otherwise the company you work for is indeed losing business for your poor choices. Never again... and this was one of my favorite restaurants.

Menu had Me x but also sandwiches and steaks. Not as extensive as regular mex restaurant but food was good. Parking on site. Full bar. Service was very slow, likely due to large group.

We were on our way to a chain restaurant when we saw this place. We stopped in and were glad we did. The chips and salsa were some of the best we've ever had. The croutons on the salad were exceptional. The food overall was very good. The wait staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. If we are in Louisville again we'll eat here.

We ordered Tumbleweed via GrubHub. I was very specific on the order. It arrived and all of it was correct save one entrée. I called the restaurant, they said it's on GrubHub that it's wrong. I asked how that could be? I said, "Did you have the driver come in and bag up my order? Did he/she come behind the counter, fix it, box it and bag it?" She said, "No, of course not, we did." So I said, well then how can it be on GrubHub that the order is wrong? She said that was just their agreement with GrubHub and that if it was wrong it was on them to fix it. I called GrubHub and the man that I talked to, Malik, said he was sorry, and he would call the restaurant and have them fix the correct entrée and if they would not deliver it themselves, to call him back and GrubHub would go get it and bring it for free. I call Tumbleweed and she tells me they're going to prepare it, but not deliver it. I call GrubHub and a supervisor tells me that they don't go pick up for an order under $25. By this time I was ready to go through the phone. GrubHub said they would refund me the cost of the entrée (which they did - promptly) but that really wasn't the point. I think that whole set up is ridiculous and that Tumbleweed should have been responsible. And if they're too challenged to get the orders right, they shouldn't be available for delivery services. I will NOT eat at this Tumbleweed again, in the dining room OR delivery and I will NOT use GrubHub again. They were good enough to refund the money, but this was the second time this happened with them and it's just too much drama wondering if we're going to get all of our order or not when we order with them. My advice? Stay away from both and you'll have less ulcers and more good food.

Could not get it right. Husband ordered medium well steak. I had simple chicken tenders and my son a wrap. Waited 45 min for server come tell us the cook overcooked steak should be here shortly. 10 min later lady i assume manager came and said sorry your food is taking so long the order wasnt put in then she said he put it in but didnt send it. I said thats funny cause i server just told us it got overcooked! Her face beat red tries to change the subject so my hubby demands they send our food. I tell u my tenders were overcooked and hard and small as ff. By this point i hollered at mgr and complained about my tenders. She said i thought they looked xtra thin and small to which she showed me pic on her phone she took to show her distict mgr to which i saw red and said WTH Why would u serve this if u even took a pic. I was furious and we left. Not sure if this is correct address but it was one closest to baymont by Wyndham louosville I-65 South. STAY AWAY.

Recently during our latest stay in L'ville, I was excited to remember they have one of my favorite places to eat (our local closed a few years ago). After a long, hot but fun outing, we decided to stop in for an early dinner. Excited for the chips and salsa that I remember, I was a little disappointed with the salsa, it was somewhat watery. It was watered to the point the hot, was anything but. It was okay, free and I was going to have my dinner soon. The server was okay but when the others received their meals (appetizers, it was Happy Hour) I was thinking how great the food looked. YUM!, not so much with what I received. I ordered a 6oz sirloin with peppers and onions. I always expect my steak to be dry because I order well done. What I got was not really dry but, it had zero flavor. Not one bit of seasoning, let alone a grain of salt!! They used to have the best seasoned steaks. The peppers and onions were so dry. Not cooked in anything. That was so sad and not to mention If they cut it in bigger pieces, they would have been passable. I was not offered a salad, instead I got two orders of fries (I ordered one). The server asked if there was a problem and I said yes, and explained. At that point the other 3 people I was dining with, had finished and was waiting on me. So, I said no. I have to leave, we have activities planned for that evening (we were at a conference). The manager came over and asked, "was there a problem with your meal?" I answered yes, and explained. "would you like us to make you something else?' No, thank you, I have to leave. I really expected a half price for the meal. (full price off would have been better, but someone worked to try to cook and serve). We got nothing off our check!! As a matter of fact, I was charged more for my meal, than what the menu said. (My husband didn't tell me until we were on the road again). Never again will I visit this Tumbleweed! I am normally a very favorable customer, especially restaurants as I feel these folks work really hard and I am picky. Shame on the manager for not making a good faith effort. Free appetizers would have been appreciated even, I would have given you another chance the following day!

I had the tenderloin. Cooked to long, but didn't taste to bad. Frys were a little chewy. Might try them again if in the neighborhood.

When I pulled into the parking lot there were hardly no cars, which is usually not a good sign but we went in anyway. There were very few patrons inside, but we were seated and everything was fantastic. Our server was great!! She was nice, friendly and efficient and kept our chips filled at all times. It was 99 cent Margarita day, so we were pleasantly surprised!!!! I ordered the lunch chicken quesadilla which came with rice. Both were excellent. I also signed up for text alerts and received $2.00 off our meal. I would definitely return!!!
