Food here isn’t on par with other cancuns in Cincinnati especially the one on Harrison ave which in my opinion is the best one also the margaritas weren’t strong at all looking at all the reviews I wonder if it’s just an off night

Cancun Mexican Bar & Grill is a solid Mexican restaurant in a great location near downtown Cincinnati. The service here us quick and the servers are all very welcoming and friendly, the interior of the restaurant is charming and contributes to a fun atmosphere, and the food is great (not the best I’ve had, but still great). I’ll also NEVER complain about free chips & salsa.

We stopped in for a semi quick lunch- from the time we sat down- and getting our complimentary chips quickly, it took over a half an hour to see a server again- after finally ordering , another 45 minutes passed and food finally came out - 1 meal was unknown- not what was ordered , due to communication issues, and waiter could not communicate what was served - super salty- 2nd meal - also way too salty - not eaten- taco salad was more of a soup- very little lettuce - one of us ordered a seafood dish which was enjoyed! To the restaurant’s credit they took the overly salty items off. I wish them well, but the lack of communication , slow service and quality of food will make it an easy decision not to go back. It’s sad as the location has so much potential. A side note 1 it was not busy - I saw the Manager walking around but avoiding our table. I am not sure if he was avoiding us or unaware. We did not stiff the waiter and left him a tip of $15 for a simple lunch menu- we realize it’s a management issue

First time here. I love how close it is to the river. I’m sure when it gets warmer people sit outside on the patio. very nice inside the decor. I came with a friend we got here before it got too busy overall the meal was OK. I decided to get the Al pastor tacos a common favorite of mine. I like that the pineapples were already added I just don’t feel that it was flavorful enough. I would like to come back because I didn’t get a drink and I did see some drinks go by that looked great. Also some fajitas that looked good so I would definitely give this place another try.

We celebrated today to avoid any crowds. We had a wonderful lunch with a very friendly waitress that helped us order a wonderful meal.The salsa was wonderful.. lots of flavor and the chips came out hot… great start.He ordered a burrito with steak and chicken and I had some and it was really flavorful and just good. He kept wanting me to try the beef as he loved it! Very tender.I wasn’t super hungry and i like to try a little of everything… need variety right now as I get super sick of things.. anyway, I ordered one taco with the Serrano and it was HOT and so very good.. it bit hot for me but next time I will get the tacos with less hot or try the fajitas.We ordered the sopapillas and they were different to what I thought a soapapilla is (soft pillowy is how my dad made them). These were crunchy and cinnamony and super flavorful and the waitress was wonderful and gave us bonus fried ice cream instead of the regular… that was cool cause I haven’t had that since chi chis was around. lolAll in all it was an amazing meal with super friendly service… we can’t wait to go back and take our kiddo… it’s nice to have found a Mexican restaurant in the area that we enjoyed…
