Homemade mole sauce was to die for. Burritos were stuffed and all the ingredients were fresh. The salsa had just the right amount of heat and loads of cilantro. The ambiance was awesome with the store in the back and the eclectic décor and different levels and whatnot. There was a couple celebrating their anniversary who invited their waiter to take a shot, and he did. It felt like having dinner with my extended family. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it. Worth the walk away from the Levee.

They definitely make their nachos in house and they're exceptional. The menu is a little restricted, but I've always been happy with my orders. The Flag enchiladas are fantastic.

Food was great, but the team does not keep their website updated. The bill was 50% higher than website prices. They informed me in person they do not keep the website updated so you won't run into this problem if looking at an in-person menu, but obviously we did since we ordered over the phone.

La Mexicana is an excellent restaurant with fairly priced food and great service. Their menu is small, but they have the popular Mexican dishes you would expect. The chips and salsa are fantastic, fresh, and unique. This place is definitely a hidden gem that is not to be missed!

Incredible! We came in before a show, just down the street. Our server was a young gentleman with the sweetest demeanor. His laugh was infectious. I was so excited to hear they had coke in a glass bottle. We were going for nostalgia on this afternoon.On top of the pleasant staff, the whole vibe was nice. The food was phenomenal. Awesome birthday dinner & so affordable!

Easy parking, nice staff, best Mexican restaurant I've been to. 14.99 for my meal and $22 after tip and tax. amazing chips and salsa, and the biggest tamales. HUGE PORTIONS I left with a huge togo box.

Small, quaint Mexican restaurant. Food is good and pretty comparable to your typical Mexican restaurant in the area, if not a little better. I do enjoy their menu options as they are a little different than other places. Staff is super friendly. Wish I could remember my waiter's name he was great!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a step up into the building and pretty much all the seating is up a short set of steps.
