This was our first experience with this restaurant, my spouse and I. We stopped in to have brunch, something quick and easy. We walked in and were told to sit where we wanted and if there were any dirty tables then to let them know. 7 tables were full of dirty dishes and there was only one 6-8 person table available, however there were only the two of us. As it turned out, this person was our waitress. After taking our order, I watched her wait to put our order in. It's not busy in the restaurant, there are 3 active waitresses working, so this made no sense. After 25 minutes, I flag our waitress down, who was nowhere to be seen up to this point (after dropping off drinks) to see what the holdup could possible be. Her response was "Well there is only one cook (the owner) available". She didn't address the fact that she waited an extra 8-10 minutes before putting our order in, at no point stopped back by the table within that 25 minute period, opting instead to go to the other side of the restaurant to socialize. Also, we were out of drinks and she didn't even offer to refill them. A few moments later, a completely different waitress came through asking if we needed refills, filling my glass up with the wrong beverage and then giving me a very impatient look because I spoke up to say, hey, I clearly had a dark liquid in my cup and you filled it to the brim with water. The next time we were helped by anyone, it was a completely different person. She said we should take into account that the other waitresses were 15 years old and that's why they didn't know what to do. Seriously?! She then loses her temper and says, "oh don't worry we'll comp the meal". I refused to have the meal comped. Firstly, it was delicious and the cook/owner deserved to at least received fair compensation for the time he took to prepare it. It's so easy for a waitress or hostess to just say the meal is comped, because no one is held accountable in that situation. They tell the owner that we were difficult customers and the small business loses money. At the very least the owner needs to know that there is absolutely no quality or standards in the dining room, or at least with the staff that were present today. I would also encourage the owner to watch any CCTV footage from 11:55-1:00PM on this day to see each of these separate issues mentioned above. It's a shame because the food is quite good and reasonably priced, but so are the other 200 restaurants in a 5-square mile. My advice isn't to avoid the restaurant, but certainly avoid dining in.

Food comes out on paper plate with plastic utensils , eggs stick to the plate?. Ordered Bacon Bloody Mary but does not come with bacon? This restaurant is not a place where I want come to again and spend my money. Food was mediocre and service consist of 1 person behind bar doing everything with 2 very elderly helpers that can’t refill drinks.

The food was terrible and way too overpriced.. I try not to write bad reviews but this breakfast just wasn’t it. If you’re big on your food don’t do it. Hot mess!

Originally had plans at Press on Monmouth but lines were super long and no tables open. Went across street - plenty of open tables. Menu had in bold no substitutions- owner cooks food. Food came out quick and was not good- gravy over salted biscuits rubber and potatoe has taste of old grease like they had sat out for a while. Even French toast had old greasy taste. Bacon was also super thick and had a horrible taste. This was the same response to all my party. Left still hungry and regretting not waiting in line. Don’t think I’ll give another try.

I grew up in Northern Kentucky and now reside in Colorado. One of my favorite things to do during a visit is to have breakfast at Mokka. It has never disappointed until now. The food is still good but, there is something completely off putting when going to a restaurant for table service dining and being served on paper plates and expected to eat with plastic ware. I understand that paper plates and plastic ware were needed during Covid and that is when the server said they began using them. We are a couple years out from that horrid experience now and paper plates and plastic ware are no longer necessary. Mokka is not McDonald's! Needless to say, I was very disappointed and will not be returning. Thanks Mokka for filling up that landfill with plastic that will not breakdown for 1000 years. I guess on the plus side, they use paper plates and not styrofoam!

New Years day - our first visit, but wont be our last! Everyone had a great meal, made exactly as ordered. And the service was exceptional with the waitress being so attentive, even though the place filled up quickly! We will be back!

Maybe my favorite local breakfast place. We have also have had the aster brunch, which is fantastic. The coffee is good and we have never had anything we didn’t like to eat. My kids enjoy coming as well. Have not been there at night, but breakfast and brunch are fantastic!Parking: There is a parking lot and usually we park there, but sometimes it’s full and you have to park in the street and walk over.Kid-friendliness: For breakfast it’s a perfectly fun place for the familyWheelchair accessibility: You can get in from the sidewalk and there are many tables and the bathrooms on the main level

We had lunch there. Spent $70 for 3 people and we were served on paper plates and plastic utensils! Unbelievable... Has really gone downhill

I like mokka but all menu items are average of $2-3 higher than the area norm, and it’s not made in house you can just tell. If you’re serving off paper plates then the food should at least be home made and not so expensive

Food is served on paper plates and plastic utensils. English muffins were burnt and eggs were over done. Google has pictures of omelets but they don't have them on the menu.

The food and service were decent and would probably go back if everything was not served on paper plates. Imagine eating over easy eggs and French toast on a paper plate. It's not good! Sis's is down the road a ways and it's definitely a no-frills type of joint but the food is really good and you get a good old fashioned glass plate. Sis's is also fairly priced.

Everyone in the queen city needs to try the grilled cheese goetta sandwich once before you die. It's perfect. Hopefully I lost you at "goetta."

Our waitress was super nice and attentive. It was very hot in the restaurant. The goetta avalanche was good but I felt like the menu over-hyped it. I'm not a fan of eating off paper plates and using plastic utensils at a sit down restaurant. I thought the overall quality had gone down since my previous visit. Not sure I would return again.
