Freight House is our favorite place that we ate at this week! My husband and I will definitely eat at this amazing restaurant everytime we drive through Paducah, Kentucky! It was such a cool place to chill out, relax and eat delicious food! What more could a person possibly ask for! Our waitress was great as well! Thank you!

Ahhh-mazing! My husband and I both have food allergies where we are often limited to a salad. The waitress was amazing, brought back a custom menu letting us know everything we could have and answered any questions. She was super sweet and patient and we had an amazing meal. I cannot remember the last time I’ve had such an amazing meal and had so many options. I was even able to get dessert! You can tell they put care into their menu, team and atmosphere.Despite being an hour drive, we will definitely be back soon!Allergy:Alpha Gal allergic to beef, pork, butter, milk, cheese, gelatin, whey. What we had (*with some adaptations):- Deviled eggs (minus bacon)- mushrooms a la plancha- local catfish (minus cornbread and bacon)- roasted duck- mocha chai sundae (sub non-dairy vanilla ice cream, no whoop, sub cherry sauce for caramel sauce)All amazing!!

Went here for our anniversary and the experience was not what we expected. We did plan it ahead and they sat us at a table that was practically connected to a table on the other side of a beam. Our Parmesan Truffle Fries were burnt and they told us they do that to intensify the flavor. They were black in spots and left a burnt taste in your mouth. Our entrees were good but the experience was very blah for a special night out. Our waitress was nice but uncaring as to how our experience really turned out. Never tried to make the burnt fries right. Not really sure if we would go back due to how they disregarded the issue with the fries. It was bizarre how they overlooked it. We seen pictures of their fries online and ours were definitely burnt.

I can't believe I didn't snap any pictures! I was very excited with this being a top chef owned location. The restaurant is gorgeous - the plants and cookbooks, and the open kitchen make this location feel like home. We started with the smoked deviled eggs and they are a huge win! The bacon jam on top has so many layers of flavors. My husband had the pot roast lasagna and I went with the meatloaf and egg noodles. The meat loaf had GREAT flavor but the gravy was very salty and my hand cut egg noodles were cold. The lasagna was plated in a bowl that complicated getting a complete bite and seemed to have been heated inconsistently when plating. Our waitress was friendly and attentive and we would try it again. The couple we dined with are from the area and dine here regularly - the heirloom carrots were delicious!!!!!!

Don't plan on showing up early and sitting at the bar. They won't aloow you to get a drink and stand at the bar unless you RESERVE the bar... Very poor business model. Last time I will be coming here.Update ::Our party was finally seated - about 10 minutes late of course. I later found out that one of our party had to put a $120/deposit down on the table to reserve it but was only receiving $100 of it back because only 10 of the 12 individuals came to the restaurant. So they decided to punish my friend monetarily for circumstances of other's not being able to make it.The seating at this place is literally metal lawn chairs. So while you are choking down your slop, your attention can be deterred by the lawn furniture you are sitting on to take your mind off the bad taste of the food.Dinner : Tasted like microwave food folks, spare yourself the pain.Time to pay the bill - the server brought us our checks and we handed over the cards to pay.. They bring my card back along with others in my party, but they tell me my card has been declined. I said hmmm, that's odd, that shouldn't be the case. I pull my phone out to check my accounts to see if I have been hacked... No, everything looks fine. So my spouse said, just use mine. So the server takes his card and then brings it back and says no, yours is declined too in front of the whole table. Then proceeds to say everyone else's cards works but not you two.So we get up to go to where they are swiping the cards.. This lady appears and says - "maybe it's the one star review you left us, maybe that's why your cards aren't working ". I looked at her and said "oh you are denying our cards because we reviewed your restaurant " - now I understand, she didn't run our cards at all, she sought to try and embarrass us in front of our party by coming and saying our cards were declined in front of everyone - but they really weren't, the owner of the restaurant was trying to get revenge, and said I won't be taking money from you since you left us a one star review.Come to find out, this lady was the owner of the restaurant. I thought maybe she was the food expo or kitchen manager or something, but certainly didn't appear as an owner of an establishment. She continued on trying to argue with me and I told her my experience upon entering the restaurant and why I left the one star review, which would have been a perfect time for her to say how can we turn this around... Instead she kept on bullying us along with her sidekick.. She took my spouses card and ran it, of course it worked, just as mine would have if she would of ran it initially.I told her I have never treated my customers the way I was treated there at the Freight House, and by the owner..Her sidekick then started to chant liar at me... It became so obnoxious the owner had to tell him to shut up.. At this point I was like, is this really happening?? Who legit calls paying customers "liars". Straight to their face because they don't like a review the customer has given..A few words of advice for the owner and staff of this declining restaurant...1. The customer is ALWAYS right... ALWAYS2. As a leader /owner - it's monkey see monkey do... Very similar to parenting... The employees get their rancid bullying behavior straight from the owner of this establishment.. She allows it to happen and tolerates and even goes as far as to participate.3. Your customers makes you or break you, you have enough disgruntled customers and you will no longer have a business.4. When you receive a one star review you should try and communicate with your customer at all cost instead of trying to embarrass and bully them in front of your restaurant. It will never end in your favor if you continue these tactics. Not once did you ask me why I left the review or what you could do to remedy. Instead you sought out a plan of revenge...**To the owner - may I suggest you read the book "Extreme Ownership". B

The pot roast lasagna was excellent. Enough for two people. It was cold in the middle, but they remedied that. Share with one other. The portions are large enough.

I have eaten all over Eastern half of America and the menu was mediocre at best and way overpriced, one time there was enough.

Came here for dinner with coworkers and had a reservation. We ordered several appetizers, a main dish, and a dessert each. From my understanding, the menu offerings rotate a little and you may not always have the same options. I was also informed (by my table mates) that the owner is a renowned competitor and winner of chef shows. The dishes prove this. EVERYTHING was wonderfully plated and tasted so delicious that I would have no problem visiting any time I come through. I definitely want to try the chef's tasting plate at some point. Wide selection of bourbons as well, I just did not have any. Open concept dining area and very friendly waitstaff. You order appetizers and main dishes at the same time but it's brought out with good timing. If carrot cake is an option for dessert (and you like carrot cake), you HAVE to get it (pictured). EXCELLENT texture, flavor, and the cream cheese icing I could have just eaten by itself. Hands down the best carrot cake I've ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Freight House!!

We didn’t plan ahead for the weekend in Paducah, but we hit the food lottery when we landed a couple spots at the bar on a Saturday night.I absolutely loved this place and the food was phenomenal! The flavors were really something special and I hope to find myself in Paducah again for another outstanding meal.

Went there last night and the experience, food and staff were top notch. I enjoyed watching chef Sara on Top Chef and Chopped and after last night, I know why she is a Top Chef. She was present and working the line. We were seated at the chef's table overlooking the cooking and everything was on point. You could tell that everyone knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Our server was able to answer all the questions we had concerning the menu and everyone was very friendly and looked like they really enjoyed their job. Chef Sara is running a well oiled machine and that can only be accomplished by being a great leader. Will definitely be back to enjoy more good food and hospitality!

Absolutely delicious! Worth the drive from StL! As a Top Chef fan it was fun to see Chef Sara.

2nd visit to FH. I appreciate the innovation / creativity of the offerings, but I came away a bit disappointed on the whole. A dining companion's shrimp and grits looked lovely and it was reported to be complex and flavorful. The catfish entree I ordered was artfully presented, well prepared, and tasty, but the dish was too minimal for my tastes. The fillets were accompanied by a single grilled green onion that seemed more garnish than vegetable. For me, some sort of accompaniment to the fish (a well-chosen vegetable, perhaps?) would have augmented the experience. Service was excellent!

Very slow food service, and the wait staff was not very attentive. The food is good but overpriced. They double charged for my meal and my sister didn't notice until after we left.
