Hubby and I celebrated a recent move to town with a bottle of wine (a Spanish red blend), which was lovely for $25. We shared the Bourbon Sriracha wings. They could have been my most favorite wings ever.We also shared the ribeye steak and a house salad with "warm bacon vinegar" dressing. The steak was perfectly charred- go figure! The char added a wonderful flavor. The salad was awesome. I would recommend all 3 dishes and the wine. Our server (Josh, I think) was great. The restaurant looks new and has fun decor. We sat at a high top at the bar.

This was my first experience eating in the beautiful Somerset area. After a game of disk golf my friend and I came here for a bite. The food was really good, the soft pretzel appetizer was wonderful and I had a bourbon burger and my friend had chicken and waffles. Those items were great. The onion rings I posted a pictured of were not that good. After frying a double battered onion ring of this size there was no onion left! So it was just crispy batter. But even with that I’m giving this place 5 stars across the board. I didn’t try any whiskey but they have a 1000 options. I will definitely eat here again when I’m back in the area.

Really disappointed unfortunately, ordered take out for a few people who had never ate here after talking up the food and chicken nachos and when we received our food it was all cold and the chicken nachos were definitely not how they are in the restaurant.

This is the second time I've visited Charred Oak. I refrained from writing a review the first time to see if it was an anomoly. It wasn't.The portions here are small, and the food is very mediocre. The pours here are only 1 oz as opposed to the 1.5 or 2 oz pours you'd normally get, and at way over the market value. Not at all worth the money.

I've eaten at 5 star restaurants around the world and this place is surprisingly equivalent (or better) than places that charge $145 per plate. Flavorful properly prepared choices. Better hold onto this chef because someone is going to find and offer lots of money for that talent. Chef, please stay! I'll be back often.

I love the location of Charred Oak! It's a central part in the revitalization of historic downtown. The side buildings in the area are exploding in vibrant murals depicting what life is like in Somerset. The dining area has a rustic appeal with a great layout and open feel. The outside patio offers great views while dining. The burgers are above average in size and taste amazing. You can never go wrong with waffle fries! Overall a good experience for a decent price. Plan on spending $35-$40 for 2 people.
