Oriental House is my go-to for dim sum in the city. It consistently offers a good selection of tasty and authentic dishes. It’s a straightforward choice if you’re in the mood for some reliable dim sum. Definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for a decent dim sum experience.

Great place to get authentic Chinese. They have two menus: an "American Chinese" and an "Authentic Chinese." They have dimsum and full dishes. They have a funny little dimsim robot. My only gripe was the rock muzak. It was too loud and not appropriate, IMO. YMMV.

My wife and I were traveling through the area and excited about ordering War Su Gai. The reviews looked promising. What we were served wasn't anything close to the real thing. They used the plain breaded chicken from Sweet and Sour Chicken to pile on top of lettuce. That and the very salty, poorly flavored gravy was all we got. No almonds, no mushrooms, no scallions, no flavor. Oh, the rice... The waitress asked if we wanted steamed or fried rice. My wife chose the fried rice. They gave her a bowl of rice fried only with soy sauce. There was no egg or vegetable pieces in it. It tasted terrible, and they upcharged her a dollar for it. The egg roll wasn't very good either and skimpy on ingredients. We were waiting on someone to refill our water, and since it was 30 minutes till closing, they were too busy cleaning up for the night to notice customers. A bad eating experience. Frankly, if a Chinese restaurant can't get fried rice and egg rolls right, then why should I be surprised when they skimp on the War Su Gai? We wasted $35. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Seated right away. The service was immediate and appetizers were out promptly. The duck was very well prepared very soft and warm. The dumplings and crab lagoons were awesome. The pork was alittle cooler than I would have liked it but ordered abit of food so understandable. All around a great experience and will go here again. The service was definitely on point and never had a dry glass.

I remember being at the Oriental House in the 1970s. It's been updated quite a bit since then, but the food is still some of the best in Louisville.

The best traditional Chinese food I had around the area. I highly recommend their Stir fried flat noodles (beef) and their dim sum items. I will be coming back with my family next time!

I haven't been here for a while, since I live a good distance away. This place is a very large step up from the average overly sweet, overly oily, Asian fast food that I generally find.I got an eggroll and chicken lo mein. They have the real, curiously hard to find, light-you-up Chinese mustard at the table. (It's so disappointing when you're expecting the real thing and get the fake stuff.)The lo mein was really good. It was full of chicken and the variety of veggies one would expect from a quality plate of lo mein.

I had the vegetable lo mein. It came out hot, and the portion size was large. However, I just didn't like the taste. I am a huge lo mein fan, but this dish just didn't have any depth of flavour, and the noodles were similar to linguine or fettuccine, which I do not like in lo mein. There was also too much juice, so the noodles were swimming in the bowl. Our server was wonderful, and the atmosphere was great, so I will have to give it another go and order something else.

It's been a long time since my wife and I have gone to Oriental House. The last time we went there was well before they remodeled. So we decided to go back for another try. Personally I still did not see anything special about the food the orange chicken was way overdone, hard in some spots, and very chewy. The Mongolian beef barely had any beef in it but the combination fried rice was good.

Ordered take out after seeing Goodall’s review. One of the most flavorful Chinese dishes I’ve had, especially in louisville. We got the Hong Kong chow mein, LO mein, and sugar donuts. Everything was excellent! Will def be back for more.
