Close to work. The food is ok. Service is fair. Street tacos are good but I wish they had salsa.

Lovely little restaurant! Lots of menu options, including several good vegetarian options. My husband loved his shrimp and corn bisque. Fresh and healthy food from a local business.

the food was very delicious but my only complaint was the customer service. I placed a order before 2 people there and they got their food before me.

As I was eating, a lady came in and saw a friend eating as well. “You know about this secret too?” she asked. “Luckily,” he said. It’s a hidden gem that’s worth exposing. Fresh, hot food and comfortable conversation are hard to come by in this town, but Cafe Desoto has both. Try it out; get in on the secret! (Best Po-Boy in town)

I work in the area and often walk over to Cafe DeSoto for lunch. I can't believe I haven't already reviewed/raved about them yet. So here goes. It's all good people. Cooked to order with fresh ingredients and friendly staff. I most often get the shrimp quesadilla but I have also had the salads, BLT, tacos, a few of the sandwiches. All are delicious! There is a table/chairs outside to enjoy on nice days. Lots of artwork (that is for sale) inside to look at.

Good value and great food. The Cuban with black beans was fabulous. If you stay at the Hotel Bentley it's a very short walk from it.

Good spinach salad, but on the small side.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Cafe DeSoto! Everything was fresh & cooked to order. The roasted butternut squash was to die for! The service was wonderful & the prices were reasonable. Thank you for a great meal & a nice time!

This place is great! My map took me to Tamp and Grind but I quickly figured out that I needed to go around the corner. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was great. My only complaint is that they don't have any high chairs for kids

It's a nice, small café in downtown Alexandria. There's seating available inside and out. It definitely reminds me of the kind of small town café I grew up going to where the staff is super friendly and personable! You can tell the community loves them by the amount of to-go orders and customers that are on first-name basis with the staff. There's also artwork for sale inside!

Favorite locals spot in downtown Alexandria. Super cute with local art on the walls. Everything is fresh and delicious here. My craves are the Cuban and the the street tacos. A side of slaw is a must. So Good!

What an amazing hidden gem. My first visit and I love it. Love the atmosphere. I got the blackened shrimp po boy, chips, and a drink. It was $17. The food was amazing and the service was amazing. Highly recommend Cafe Desoto and I can not wait till I come back home as I will absolutely be back.
