I moved to CENLA from Southern New Mexico and have been very hesitant to try Mexican restaurants in the area. I finally tried Javi P's and the food tastes like home. It is delicious and authentic. If you want to get a true Mexican food fix in CENLA come to Javi P's!!! ❤️

I typically don't have an issue with this restaurant. I normally enjoy the food and the environment. However, recently I found out that I am not able to eat gluten. I went in and asked the young guy if the food I was ordering was gluten free. He looked at me blankly and said "huh?" I repeated myself louder and he stared at me and shrugged and said "I don't know" and looked away from me. I had no idea what to do or say because I did not want to make a big deal about it so I just ordered and went on frustrated to say there least. I would have appreciated an "oh let me check" or something along those lines. Not even the cashier or other worker in the area, that heard the conversation, stepped in or even bothered to answer my simple, important question. I did not appreciate the customer service here. Nor were any of the workers friendly. Side note, everything is way too expensive. $33 bucks for a simple quesadilla, chicken & rice bowl, and a small order of queso. Insane.
It’s like the sandwich Shop that you know; choose your bowl and tell ‘em what you want in it. Everything is so fresh! Interior has too much seating but otherwise cozy and bright.

Great place to have lunch. For around 10$ you get more than enough food. I should have shared with my son. The spicy salsa was to die for. I got the nachos and my son had a bowl. Everything was well seasoned and the place was extremely clean!!!! Will be back!

Javi p's has great portion size and the ingredients taste great, especially the chili lime salsa, queso, and guacamole. For those who like Chipotle, this is a great option for bowls or burritos with fresh Mexican ingredients. The service I have receives there has always been great. Surprisingly, they usually do not have a big line or a crowd inside so the service is very quick.
