Stopped here for dinner one evening when I came to town for work. Sat at the bar & had a really great conversation with the bartender who shared some local insight and a phenomenal dinner. The spoon bread is delicious! Highly recommend!

First time eating here. Glad we decided to give this place a try. Food was good! Ashley was our waitress and she was very friendly and well educated on the menu/flavors.

We loved the seafood pasta and French bread! The kids kept trying to steal my bread.

Service was good. I sent the queso back because it was hard to dip a chip because it was on the cold side. The seafood pasta had too much red pepper and should have been listed as a spicy seafood pasta. The penne pasta was super overcooked. The tenderizing hammer must have bypassed my chicken fried steak it was tough. It also was rolled up on one end where the only crust I found was a wad of uncooked batter. The fried ? cheese wedges were pretty good. The size of the dipping marinara was too small for 5 wedges. I expected good quality food to be prepared correctly. I don't plan to come back.

Note to self: Do not come back to Capitol City grill. I got the seafood pasta. It was spicy, like really spicy and the menu never mentioned it would be spicy. But that wasnt the biggest issue, the penne pasta was extremely overcooked and mushy. I expected the cream sauce to have a rich flavor Im so use to, unfortunately the cream sauce somehow lacked the expected richness most would expect. If you order this. Advice: Get some french bread on the side to counteract the heat if you truly must eat this dish. Lol ?

Tonight was mixed for me. We were told 20-30 mins which we expected as they were busy. It took much longer, more like an hour. We were finally seated and this is where things took a turn. Our waitress was less than pleasant. She had a bit of an attitude and never checked on us throughout the meal. I had to stop other waitresses three times to get stuff we needed because she would just disappear. We ordered the half and half platter which my husband said was Great! The shrimp poboy was amazing. The hushpuppies looked good but were under cooked and mushy in middle. The mozzarella was great!. Over overall the food was really Good!! But service pretty bad.

The food we experienced was good and tasty. The kids portion of Mac and cheese is hefty but one of my kids received 1/5 portion of french fries that my other child got and they ordered the same thing. They give a thumbs up to the kids fried shrimp. The French dip was good. I if you like catfish their New Orleans cast fish was tasty but I missed the my regularly catfish batter. However, the service for left a lot to be desired.

Came here for the first time yesterday. Horrible experience! Most of the tables were dirty, including ours which was sticky. We ordered the hushpuppies- they were okay . We didn't have silverware when they came out, so we had to eat them lukewarm/cold. Then we had the pasta and bacon swiss burger. The burger was dry and salty, tasted how dog food smells. We each took one bite and literally spit it out. The pasta was average- wouldn't order any of it again. When I looked around, I noticed that literally nobody finished their plate. Also that the carpet was filthy. I told my server that our burger was nasty and he took it back. I was still charged for my fries, even though they came with the burger, but that is fine. I wish I could be refunded for wasting my time. We had to go somewhere else to eat after spending over $40 here, bc we were still so hungry. Terrance was a good server but I wish he asked if we needed togo drinks, or even togo boxes. We had to bring our hushpuppies home in a napkin.

Food was out of this world! For a Tuesday night, the waiting staff seemed to struggle a bit to keep up with the crowd , however after a brief 15 min wait for drink orders the waiter was right on top of it. Definitely will visit again.

We wondered around Downtown Baton Rouge, LA, and were looking for a great place to try some cajon food. We were very impressed with Capitol City Grill. If ever in the area, check it out.

An hour after placing our order we gave up and left. We got one appetizer, borderline burnt and eventually got the second, raw in the center. Near the end of the hour someone came along and we got silverware. I sent the raw hushpuppies back. She asked if everything else was ok and when I told her we were waiting for our food, she said Oh ok! And left. About 10 minutes later she came back with an order pad and asked us what we had ordered. I was speechless. Now its another hour later and I am still hungry, looking for somewhere along the 4 hour drive home. So disappointing.
