Strange place- half the menu is available if they feel like it (like pizza, which they decided they didn’t want to make when we tried to order it). The traditional Italian food was great but some of the non traditional dishes were a little off (like the grilled soft shell crab). Cocktails were so-so. Pasta portions were meager compared to what you would expect.

Meh.Frankly not impressed at this pricing level.Portions were fairly small for the price.Service was fairly slow. The marinara was way too sweet for virtually everyone at the table. For $50 a head you can do much better in the area.

The parking lot is always full but they have a lot of tables. I went here for my birthday as a solo date and enjoyed it! The staff is so professional. And my birthday cheesecake surprise was so cute!

Best Italian food. I've been going there since I was a baby. Now I get to take my baby. He loves it as much as I do. Cricket is always our server. He's the best. You will not be disappointed in anything you order.

I took a date here the Thursday after Valentine's Day and discovered that there is live music on Thursdays. I'm not normally a fan of live music as the musicians tend to crank up the volume and I'm already hard of hearing, but I found the volume to be at an acceptable level, even sitting right in front of where they play. The food was delicious, the service fantastic, and I found both the restaurant and the bathroom to be acceptably clean. I highly recommend Gino's Restaurant as a great place to bring a date.

Amazing dining experience and a must visit. Gino's offers an excellent selection of wines, with good recommendations from the servers. The staff are polite and helpful throughout the meal. The calamari tasted great and fresh. The Capri salads were refreshing. The Veal Parmesan was delicious. Their Lawrence bread (their version of garlic bread) is also a great compliment to the meal. For dessert, we ordered the Tartufo cake and tiramisu. The Tartufo cake was absolutely delicious and rich; id recommend it if you are drinking red wine with your meal. The tiramisu's mascarpone was delicate.

I've been to a lot of restaurants around Baton Rouge and honestly this is the best service and ambiance that I've experienced in a while. Server was amazing very professional and quick! My boyfriend and I are early 20s we knew it would be an older crowd, but we were still treated with the same respect... which honestly never happens! We're usually given lackluster service but still tip. I ordered the champagne shrimp and it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Everything was perfect except for the salad. Lots of spines and wilted lettuce. Other than that it was amazing! I think my waiters name was Evan or Ethan lol! We're definitely going to be coming back soon.

Such an amazing iconic restaurant! The Laurence bread is such a highlight as you read the menu! Thursdays Gino has live music at 7 so make sure you make reservations if you want to sit in the bar area at a table! I love the lamb chops cooked medium and its my Go To! Check out the specials- you cant go wrong! I love this place every time! Great for 6-8 people too!

Not impressed. I called and made a reservation for 7 people and when we arrived, the table was set up for 6. Missing a chair and a set of silverware. A small problem but it added up with the other things. The waiter was very forceful and insistent that we spend more money. When we ordered, the wrong food was brought to me. I told him that’s not what I ordered and he told me it was. Everyone at the table said they heard what I ordered and it wasn’t what I was brought. The waiter then said he would tell the cook I didn’t like it and wanted something different. The portions were very small and average tasting. Not much seasoning at all. The waiter wrote in his own gratuity (more than 20%) even though nothing on the receipt said gratuity would be automatically added. Terrible service with average food in small portions and very high prices does not add up. I won’t be returning and will highly recommend against this restaurant.

Expensive for what it is, but it's good Italian food in the Baton Rouge area. I got the Italian Sausage meal (sauce and sausage not pictured) with a Caprese Salad to go, and it was $40, which I thought was very expensive for the portion size. The noddles, sausage and sauce were amazing. It comes with two sausage links and tons of sauce. Even though I had it to-go, I feel like I still got the delicious quality of food. I wish there was more for the price.. I feel like it was only a cup of noodles, but oh well. The Caprese Salad was average but only two pieces. I did like the thickness of the cheese though. I ordered and within 25 minutes it was ready to go. You have to walk to the bar to pick up to-go orders, and this gives you a chance to see the restaurant. I liked this because most restaurants have you pick up to-go orders at the front, so you aren't able to see the resturant. It's an old Italian vibe with fireplaces and a dark lighting inside. Very authentic Italian, just wish portion sizes were bigger because I was still hungry after.
