Hard about this place many times and while driving in the area but not using my yelp app, I have tried to located this place withouth success until 2 months or so ago. Found it and tried Smoke Bayou on a Saturday lunch time. This place is located on Inniswold Road 0.2--0.3 mile away from its intersection with Jefferson Highway so you need to know where you are going if you want to find this place. This is a 5 star eatery. If you live anywhere near the Mall of Louisiana area, from Jefferson hwy to Perkins road, smoke bayou is truly a hidden secret. The smoke meat falls off the bones , but they also have regular plates lunch's daily and it's in your budget. Fry food is cook fresh per order so don't complain about the wait, it worth it . The smoke oxtail on Sunday is my favorite.

I don't remember exactly what we got but it was definitely a combo big enough for 2. Being from Texas this reminded me of home. I really enjoyed it. They were patient and answered our questions. The place is small but feels country cozy. Negatives. Cornbread is to small it should be a square piece from a pan. Also surprisingly the max and cheese was not worth it.
