I found this place online while looking for something new to try for lunch with my family on a Saturday. I was pleasantly surprised to see the simple, modern decor.We also really were impressed with the large menu selection of creative twists on classic dishes.It was a bit pricey but overall a great experience for a treat.

I had the pleasure of eating at this awesome restaurant during my visit to Baton Rouge. I love the fact that the menu is very accommodating for various dietary needs such as Keto, Gluten free, Vegetarian, Vegan, etc. The food is seasoned to perfection and very delicious! The ambience of the restaurant is extremely warm and inviting. The staff is very attentive, friendly, and eager to please. I enjoyed my experience so much that I visited twice during my two day visit in Baton Rouge. I only wish they had this restaurant in my hometown Atlanta. I highly recommend this restaurant and will surely visit again when I return to Baton Rouge.Dietary restrictions: The menu is very accommodating for various dietary needs.Parking: Parking is very accessible.

Can't remember too much what they were but I know they had a cauliflower bowlDietary restrictions: I am on a specific diet ATM no sugars and they had a couple drinks one I tried had lime and cucumber and a couple other things. Always delicious! Great service! So many great options and everything is made fresh and they use local seasonal ingredients. Love the Strawberry feta guacamole and the cauliflower bowl! All the Margaritas are so good!

My husband and I came to Baton Rouge for a quick getaway and gave Mestizo a try for dinner on our first night in town. I am so glad we did. The restaurant is a free standing building with ample parking - a plus for large SUVs. The front door opens up to an expansive interior, replete with a full bar and a wonderfully inviting ambience: think urban chic meets Louisiana flare. The mocktails were a wonderful choice to start our experience. Then on to the elote dip appetizer, which was 100% fire. For entrees, we ordered the skirt steak tacos and the redfish tacos... both beyond tasty. We rounded the meal out with the tres leches cake & the cream stuffed churro. It's rare to get a dining experience as nice as Mestizo's but we sure are glad we did. From Kaylee's impeccable service to the quality of the food, there wasn't a single thing I would have changed. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.Dietary restrictions: They have lots of gluten free and keto options.

This was my first time at this restaurant. I am very excited to go back! The prices are not cheap but they are not bad also. The food is very fresh tasting! When asking for gluten accommodations, they have a gluten-free menu. They also have a dedicated fryer that gluten is not allowed in and that is what their chips are cooked in. Also, they have a section of their menu that is not cooked in butter oil. I can't wait to eat more from this location!

Had a great time at Mestizo tonight. Staff was welcoming, helpful and nice. Food was to die for. I highly recommend this for a date night or to treat some family members to a night out. We started with the fried avocado app and queso. Both I would recommend. I ordered the Scallop Con Mole Verde and we could not stop going back to the mole. My husband had the Carne, skirt steak entree. It was very flavorful and came with a ton of steak and veggies. I'm posting some pics because I, for one, like to see pics before I order. ? Enjoy!
