My friend and I arrived 20 mins til closing and they were out of most menu items, but we're pretty easy going and just really wanted to try some good, quick Cajun food on our trip through the state. This place had just that! We were greeted by friendly staff, even as they cleaned and prepared to go home. They didn't mind us coming in late and helped us decide, since we are not familiar with the area or the menu. The food was delicious and affordable (I am currently trying to deconstruct the potato salad, in order to figure out the recipe). Generous portions, balanced flavor and right amount of spice for this wayward wanderer. What the establishment lacked in atmosphere, it made up for in service, flavor, and efficiency. I would definitely return if the opportunity presents itself.

MICROWAVED! I'm a wifeless, kidless Batchelor... I have an intimate relationship with a microwave! When you zap fish, ètouffee, rice, AND corn and charge $12... you aught to be ashamed of yourself! (YEA YOU White girl in the kitchen!) At least after you zap it... test the temp... DUH! ?

Absolutely terrible meal. The jambalaya was the consistency of oatmeal. The rice was mush and the gumbo was awful. We couldn't eat it. It seemeike they reheated the gumbo in the microwave.

Love their Jamabalya. I order the chicken and sausage rice but request they take out as much chicken out as possible. Sometimes there’s too much chunky chicken the Jamabalya.Parking: Located in stripe mall, limited parking.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly

I had the pastalaya, and it was tasteful with a smoke flavored sausage and chicken! Would try again. I've heard the gumbo and beans with rice are also really good.

Service is very very very slow. Too slow to say the food is already cooked. My wife had already eaten by the time I got my food. The cook forgot my order twice. Plus there’s a little boy running in and out the kitchen frequently.

It's not great food, but I don't think they're trying to be "great". It's heroically affordable.

I started going to Jambalaya Shop for 15 years and it started with original shop in Gonzales. Service always good and quality excellent. I would give 5 stars except the Fettuccine Shrimp pasta was stuck lump together. Called and expressed my concern and she take care of me and made it right. 5 star service. I will be back.

Got to go fried fish with 2 sides and a little bread pudding. The fish was very crispy, the hot sauce was essential! Both the green and white beans were tasty and well seasoned. I enjoyed how soft the rolls were. Next time, I'll have to try the jambalaya! I'd give the bread pudding is also very good, extremely flavorful considering how small of a piece it is. Would get again!

I have eaten here before and jambalaya was good. But today, it was just awful! I truly believe they forgot to use seasoning. And the rice was mush! I don't know what happened but please fix it!

The food was alright. I liked the gumbo and the sides I ordered. However, the jambalaya had little seasoning. The rice was bland. The sides are better than the main dish. The serving sizes are nice though.
