Used to come to Tunks back in the day when we lived in the area but have not been here in years. Met 2 of our dear friends from Simpson here for supper The one noticeable thing missing right off was that the great salad bar was gone- probably due to the Covid mess With that exception all else was simply the same Our waitress, Angel- was delightful- she was an ANGEL! Not only was she pretty - she was punctual- personable & professional- And the food was exceptional We had fried crab claws for a starter - they were SPOT ON I tried the crawfish Etoffee - it was a monstrous serving so right off the bat I asked Angel to take 1/2 and box it up for our friends to take home!! My buddy tried the special - the crawfish bisque and let me have a sample- the taste was scrumptious and for his main course he had the catfish platter - with the fish being fried crispy- he said they were delicious His wife tried the Etoffee as I did- both served with a small side salad which were as good as I remember the salad bar of old The place was very clean as it has always been and I was delighted to be able to visit one of our old favorite places and see it still thriving and doing good You never want to be biased when you do a review of a place of business and always try and be very objective That all said - being very objective and my old conservative self I give Angel and Tunks an 8 on the Yelp Scale of 1-5 And applaud Jim Bo and his family and staff for maintaining such a great place since I guess the mid 70's WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!! Hope to be back in on our next visit Blessings to Y'll Dale B Fort Worth

Great food and great ambiance, especially downstairs in the Oyster Bar area. Can either enjoy the lake view inside or outside.

The last time I went to Tunks, they still had an all you could eat seafood buffet. I thoroughly enjoyed it then but when I go out, I'm looking for something not only special, but with no limitations attached! I'm sure somewhere down the road. I'll visit Tunks again, but until then I really can't give you an accurate review!

Have been here on numerous occasions. Kind of a family tradition of sorts. The food is always delicious. Last night service was amazing waitress was very friendly, helpful and attentive. We were just about everything on menu, prime rib was great, boiled shrimp and crawfish seasoned perfectly. All appetizers were spot on. Of course the view of the lake is always great. If you are in the area it is worth the trip. Nothing fancy or pretentious just good food

Tunks is a beautiful spot by the water. We ate downstairs and we're the only ones there besides the bar. The Service was very nice and accurate, but a little slow. We had to remember we were in the south and be patient. The blackened gator bites were a great starter, especially just to try something new. It tastes like chicken! One of my party ordered the Gator Parm and said it was amazing. I had delicious and well priced oysters followed by a bowl of gumbo and loved every bite. 10/10 would eat here again when I have the chance.

Recently visited for the first time in a while but will not wait too long to go back! Our group was large and the staff really took care of us. Seafood platter was perfect! Worth the drive for good food--next time it will be a steak for me!

The atmosphere was awesome, our server was so bad... Food was good not great but the fact we waited 45 minutes for a bucket if beer. My wife had to refill kids drinks and I understand its the first but we walked in at 730. Its 9:16 food just arrived and waiting on drinks is unacceptable. I use to LOVE this place. This will be my last visit to this establishment

Not the same Tunk's I have had numerous pleasures of dining. The waiter was obnoxious and condescending while complaining about the lack of customers, all this while we were rushed to hurry up, eat, and pay the bill, so he and others could go back checking messages on their social apps.We left and went to Pedro's where we had a thoroughly wonderful time. And there were many patrons there.Attitude counts when you want customers.Avoid Tunk's unless you're happy to eat quickly while being insulted by a witless waiter with no social skills.

Great ambiance for what limited options this town has to offer. Food is about a 7/10. Bar downstairs is worth the drive.

The atmosphere is awesome, add to that the food is delicious. The last visit our waiter did a fantastic job with the 20 of us!

Tunks used to be the best place to eat, it was not good at all. It was cold, do not recommend.

I went to this restaurant after 6 years and was extremely disappointed in the food I got. The food was not good at all and lacking in flavor and quality. I ordered a pound of shrimp, that came out and did not look like a found. Also a lot of the shrimp was over cook and tough to eat. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again. The only positive is our waitress was very nice and helpful.

The atmosphere is very country/swamp like. The seafood can not get any more fresh considering the lake right outside. This place is not for a romantic night but more for casual dinner with friends or loved ones. The service was good but also casual. It's a "sit yourself" type of restaurant. However the food was delicious and came out fast. The portions were very generous and seasoned well.
