Ohhh Weee! Look- sometimes it really is just those roadside stops that provide for the best food- and this place did NOT disappoint! We treated ourselves to a variety of their offerings- including 3 types of boudin, their fried chicken & fried gator. When I tell you that I feel like I need to thank someone's ancestors for that fried chicken- I am not lying! Lol. It was juicy & fried to perfection! The gator was also fried perfectly & they're doing some magic in there with that batter - bc it was seasoned in all the right ways. The boudin was also great- we got a link of each; traditional pork, gator & a link of the crawfish. I personally didn't care for the crawfish- but that's a me thing- (gotta have my mudbugs separate! lol) but the flavor of all 3 was great. This place has themselves on the map for a reason, between the fantastic food & southern hospitality- don't miss this stop! 5 stars!

In need of a break from the car we looked up lunch spots nearby and there wasn't much. This place was so highly rated we looked past the worn exterior, and the worn interior, and the dirty bathrooms. Hey why not, some of my favorite spots are a hole in the wall. We ordered the seafood basket with fries, 6 chicken finger basket with fries, crawfish étouffée (large side over rice), and a crawfish boudin ball. Also picked up a 6 pack of Abita Root Beer to have extras for the road. Everything was extremely salty and fishy/bayou-ish (I imagine a bit like the bottom of the crawfish pot tastes at the end of the night), which is to be expected when eating crawfish... but not to this extreme. The fried shrimp were really the only thing I might choose to eat again. Prices seemed a bit out of line for the quality, especially since that didn't include the unadvertised 4% service fee for credit card use. Overall, we left with full bellies and chalked it up to a new experience, but won't be back.

We called ahead and placed an order to-go as we drove across I-10. When we arrived, the line was long, but it moved quickly, and our food was ready in the timeframe promised. We came for the fried chicken, and it did not disappoint. Especially since it came with a biscuit - what a pleasant surprise! Excellent, friendly service! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. p.s. you need one of the pralines at the register. It's huge and the perfect sweet treat chaser

Customer service was really good. This place was very busy with customers getting boudin and shrimp. I had boudin and it was really good.

Best gumbo of my life. I've never written a review in my life but I will for this place. I always hit it when I'm coming back to Texas. It's a hole in the wall but the gumbo is top tier.

The fried shrimp, burger and fries were all delicious! Very pleasant and friendly staff! Little hidden gem for good food! Glad we stopped in.

A wise Yelper once said when finding the best boudin balls in Louisiana the sketchier the roadside shack the better the boudin. I have to say I concur with this. Driving across I-10 is pretty uneventful but the promise of delicious Cajun food off the interstate is the prize. This place was next to a Texaco station and the lineup of cars looked promising. Everything looked great and choosing was hard but hubby and I decided to split a mixture of pepper jack and crawfish boudin balls. The pepper jack boudin was my favorite. The Po Boy had a generous amount of fried crawfish with the right amount of outer crunch to the soft baguette. Looking around we saw a lot of folks enjoying the fried chicken. Some of the best food comes from the most unassuming places!

Heading back home from our trip in NO we stopped here for lunch. Amazing this food was so good hot and fresh. The small diner quaint setting had a few tables people laughing and eating the football game was on the tv saints playing on a Sunday the phone ringing. The was a treasure to find.

Touristy, okay but nothing great. Right off the highway. Food was hot building is crowded on the inside.

It looks scary, but the food is delicious. A good rule to remember in Louisiana, especially on the highway, is that the best food is at the sketchy places. The fried chicken here is made fresh so either order ahead or be ready to wait 15-20 minutes but it is worth it!! Boudin balls also incredible. They have tables but it's an order-at-the-counter situation so check out the menu before you get there. I'm not sure "ambiance" would be a word I could use to describe this place- it's not unpleasant, but you're eating great food at a card table in a tiny grocery store. If you need a stop on the road this is it, and if the weather is nice, order ahead, pick it up and find a spot for a picnic!

Don't let the outside fool you; there's cuisine treasure inside this place. The service is impeccable because the owner greeted us as we entered. He immediately asked if we had a call in order and quickly gathered our order. The food was absolutely delicious and it traveled all the way to New Orleans with us. We ordered the crawfish etouffee, fish, and fried chicken. All absolutely worth trying; that's why I am telling you don't pass it up because of the outside of the building.

Best place in LA for boudin and cracklings! Exit 115 in Henderson . I've been stopping here for years and it keeps getting better. A must !!

Delish fresh LA type poboys! Love their cracklings & cheese Boudin balls! My dad loved the catfish poboy... my momma & I shared and absolutely loved the shrimp poboy. Sister had the shrimp platter with coleslaw and talk about great taste and fresh!
