Party of 4 visiting from Texas asked locals at Avery Island (Tabasco plant) a recommendation for a late lunch between New Iberia and Lafayette. They told us about Poor Boys Riverside. We got there in time for the lunch specials, fried & grilled catfish, wife had a crab cake appetizer she adored, salads, soup & green bean sides were delicious. Service was great, they have a large menu with lots of options, looking forward to dining with them again. Cannot recommend highly enough!!!!

Food was very good. We had the crawfish boil, gator bites (half grilled/half fried) and seafood stuffed mushrooms. My wife tried crawfish and gator for the first time and loved them. Service was good also.

The end of a 42 year relationship with Poor Boys Riverside Inn. We got there early. We were the second group seated at opening. We were we were greeted by our waiter immediately. We were questioned if we were interested in the appetizers. We told him that we wanted love crab meat and crab fingers. He let us know that they were out. We ordered shrimp Brochette...tasteless and dry. The fried alligator was great. I asked about the stuffed lobster since this is that we have gotten every time for the past 42 years and I was told that they had one!!! Unbelievable. My husband wanted flounder since he gave last lobster to me...they were out! We waited on our food for 1 1/2 hours. I was told it was because of the lobster. Ummm I get lobster every time we come and never waited this long...ever. the lobster came and it was the smallest lobster I had ever seen and the tail was overcooked/rubbery and the stuffing extremely mushy. The other three meals served was given a thumbs down. All stating it was the worst meal they have been served at Riverside inn. I hadn't been in a year considering I am 1hr 40 minutes away...so disappointing that this icon is going the way of so many other restaurants. It has been a great 42 year relationship that apparently has to end.

We were the only Biracial couple in the Restaurant last.all the empty glasses for water had dry spots, they weren't properly cleaned. We asked the waitress for clean glasses and she had a really bad attitude. After that she made us her last table. 2 other couples set after us and she served them first. They got their drinks and salads. We did get waters in clean glasses. Still waiting on our drinks and food. We were the Only Biracial couple last night, just saying.....

after we were seated, we noticed all of our drinking glasses had water spots. They we not cleaned properly. when we asked the waitress for clean glasses she had a bit of a bad attitude. it just got worse as we waited and waited for our drinks. while waiting 2 parties sat in the section with our waitress, right behind us. They got there drinks before us, there salads before us. The waitress purposely stayed away from our table and made our table her last to wait on. We got so tired of waiting and watching her serve her other tables and not even notice our drinks were empty. We finally got tired of waiting and walked to the front desk and paid for our drinks and left. it was one of the worst experiences in a restaurant in a long time. I am Hispanic and my wife is black. We are a interracial couple and my wife's brother came with us. We were the only interracial could that we could see. I didn't think this restaurant is RACIST but I guess our Waitress is. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PLACE.

This has been a favorite date night spot for years. The food is consistently delicious and the pride that they take is so obvious in the excellent service you receive from the serving staff to management. Riverside will always be dear to our hearts.

Never disappoints! Crab fingers were plump and fried to perfection! Loved the Crabmeat augratin. Not too rich. Just right. My husband had the stuffed flounder and he enjoyed it as well. Plenty of leftovers to bring home.
