We began with Spinach and Artichoke dip; the portion was nice but the tase was lacking. Very bland and a bit "dry". We then had a Bleu cheese wedge salad and a cup of Gumbo. Salad dressing was, again, a bit bland. Gumbo was just "ok" (a very dark roux). The entrees were Petit Filet and Chicken pasta. Wife said the filet was a bit undercooked to her liking (ordered medium but was more med/rare in the middle; I know, getting a filet a bit more"cooked" in the middle can be challenging so I do understand that). For the price, my pasta portion was laughable. The two cheapest food items on the planet (pardon the hyperbole) were definitely not priced as such, especially given the portion. Again, the last was a bit bland. Dessert was a coconut pecan pie slice. This was enjoyable and one of the better parts of the meal.The service was ok. Our waiter was a bit scattered and verbalized the specials after we placed our appetizer order (which sounds ok but one of the specials was an appetizer that we may have considered). Drink refills were sparse (all together forgotten at one point), though he was pleasant and attentive otherwise.I'm told that this establishment is under new ownership/management, though I'm not positive. The management on duty were cordial and appreciative of our visit. Past experiences have been good but this visit was sub-par. I don't think we will be returning to MeMe's. The value, for me, just wasn't there and the taste left a lot to be desired. For the cost of these dishes, I would expect better flavors and portions, in some cases. We'll be dining elsewhere in the future, unfortunately.

What an oasis! We live in NOLA but have another home in the Parish for work. There are many fantastic restaurants in Chalmette, but Meme's is our favorite. All of the team members there treat us so nicely. We feel so welcomed and genuinely appreciated on our visits. BUT THE FOOD! Everything is delicious! No favorites, just order anything. They have various specials throughout the week. Favorite appetizers: Oysters, shrimp and meatballs. Salads: Wedge. Entrees: EVERYTHING! Specials: Steak night (Thursdays). Tuesdays: Half off appetizers. Desserts: Cheesecake! Have fun!

After reading some of the reviews, I did not have high expectations of this place. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. From the time I walked in till the time I walked out all staff members were friendly and engaging. The ambiance was classy and relaxing. For the appetizers we had char-broiled oysters, boudin egg rolls, head-on shrimp, and crab cakes. They were all delicious. My two favorites were the oysters and the boudin egg rolls. I had the lunch special it was a piece of deep fried pork loin with these pan fried potatoes with a mushroom sauce and it was laid on this barbecue type sauce. it was delish. Everyone at the table said their food was excellent. The kids shrimp with fries, shrimp and grits - which I want to try next - the fillet with a house salad, and gumbo. Everything was all very tasty and cooked perfectly. Definitely we'll go back.

We have been here several times. The owner Doug is amazing. Food was very good. I must say the bartender seemed a bit in experienced. A martini is a basic bartender skill, the martini had to be sent back. But otherwise it was a awesome as usual

Everyone was great! Doug came and talked with us a few times and made sure everything was to our liking. The food was phenomenal we had the bbq shrimp appetizer with the garlic bread(dip the bread in the sauce you wont regret it!), the cajun redfish with the crawfish sauce and garlic fries, the crab cakes and the sweet mashed potatoes and for dessert the crème brûlée (my personal favorite &one of the reasons i go there) and the white choc bread pudding. The portion sizes were good and we definitely left feeling fit to burst and satisfied! We had bad luck with service at other restaurants we've been to and MeMe's was the first great service we've had in a really long time! Its definitely worth a visit and the money.
Promptly seated. The waiter comes with water and menu. He later returns. We are placing our order. A staff member, I'm guessing the manager pulling him away as we are ordering. No type of Customer Service. No “Excuse Me”. No “I'll be right back”. Service was slow. Receive part of the meal. When asked for the remainder was told that was all we ordered. Later they said, “oh you're right”. Then it came about 15 minutes later. Asked for water and bread. It took over 10 minutes. The waiter accidentally put his water napkin in our Pepper Jelly. When asked for another Greg the waiter nothing wrong with a lil napkin. Yes, he maybe he was joking but where the jelly. When asked again he said I'll let the Chef know you want more. Hmmm, I'm sure the jelly is premade. Waiting, waiting, waiting. Yes, I know it's Valentine's Day, you're busy. However, it wasn't our fault. I should not have had to get up from the table to ask for more. By the time jelly comes I no longer need it for my egg rolls since I'm full from the bread and water. One thing I can say was prompt was when was requested the check, lol.

The lobster was a little tough this time. The creamed spinach was more like cheese spinach. Very dry. Steak was more medium rare than medium. They were just off for some reason. Hope they get it together because we love going here.

We took our grandsons out for a nice dinner. Food was delicious and our server Ashley did a great job making sure we had all we needed . We have never had a bad experience at MeMe's. Highly recommend!
